Received DME packet, but it was wrong

We received the DME packet in the mail:sohappy:, but it had the wrong resort. The trip has been paid for a couple months ago, but when I called DME they had us at POP instead of Poly. SHe said to take a sharpie and write in Polynesian. When we first signed up with DME we were staying at POP, but switched because of a 40% off room. Are the computers not linked (DME and the reservations?) So I am worried the luggage might go to POP and not to us at our resort. I thought they would send out new tags. How flippin expensive could they be?

Hey I can help here. The same thing happened to us a few years ago. Our original trip was to ASMu but we switched to Pop. ME told us the same thing. We used a shaprie to do it. I was so nervous that I even took pictures of my suitcases before the left the house that morning. We had NO problems what so ever. In fact that trip was the fastest ME had ever delivered out bags, I think we had them within an hour of checking in.

This has happened to us, too. We changed resorts after our ME tags had been sent. Since your resort reservation number stays the same, and the bar code on your ME tags is tied to that, when the tags are scanned at the airport, they will show the correct resort. Crossing the old resort out with a Sharpie and writing in the new one can't hurt, either. (we did the same thing) Your bags will safely make it to your hotel. And enjoy the Poly! What an upgrade!

Exactly as others have said, the bar code is keyed to your resort room reservation so the correct resort will come up based on that. DME is a pretty amazing service and all will go off perfectly!!! Have a great time! Belle

Apparently they are linked, but I'm not sure how often updates are sent between the 2 systems - and there are definitely 2 separate systems!

There is no need to reprint them, which is probably why they don't - and it wouldn't be very "green" to do so - as long as the reservation number is the same, the barcode hasn't changed, so there is no need for a reprint.

As a travel agent, I would say close to half of the Magical Express booklets I get are incorrect somehow - but my clients still manage to get to their resort and get their luggage with no trouble.

Also be sure to carry all of your valuables such as money, credit cards, jewelry, all prescriptions, camera equipment etc. with you in a carry on. It never hurts to be careful!!! Have a great trip! Belle
