I'm misogynist scum and I am from Louisiana.

Well, my wife says I am a darling sweetheart. But what does she know, she's just a chick.

Actually I`ve only tried Cajun food once when my ex sister- in- law made Jumbalya, I think that`s how it`s spelled, anyway I swore never to eat that again. That is after the fire department put out the fire in my mouth!

I was born in New Orleans, spent the better part of my childhood in Hawaii, then when I was a teen moved to Abita Springs LA.

My wife was born in Cado Parish and lived in the rural area of St. Tammany Parish (Near Covington) unil we were married.

It's a myth that all cajun food is hot. If it's done right, the spices add flavor and not an excessive amount of heat.

And it's spelled "jambalaya". It's pronounced phonetically as "jumbaliya".

I suggest a brand of jambalaya mix called "Oak Grove". It's local brand in Louisiana, but you can find it on the internet. It's not overly hot, but is spiced right. They also make a killer cajun dirty rice mix! :slurp:

I grew up in Greensburg...it's close to Kentwood and Amite. I am familiar with St. Tammany Parish...it's the next-door neighbor to Tangipahoa Parish.
