Sorry to have to burst all of your bubbles, but... The Living Seas is not set to open until after December 1st. This was announce last week. Plus, there is no evidence of the Hydrolators being removed or the entrance and exit being switched around. I would know, I was there only 15 minutes ago. I walked right behind the walls and saw no difference than what was already there before the pavilion closed for rehab.
Well two weeks ago, from the monorail you could see a seperate set of construction wall around the old exit doors. So they are doing something else around the old exit doors.

I for one have really liked the changes made to TLS...I can't wait to see what they've done this time...I think based on past "phases" we can trust the changes will add to the pavilion and not take away from the overall experience.

That's how I've understood it as a rumour...but is the second stage 'confirmed'?

MAybe Not Officaly, but it is happening.

If it had not been becuase of the popularity of Turtle Talk, nothign would have reopened till it was completly finished.

But Turtle Tlak is to popualr a show to close down for 1 1/2 years.

well apparently, the theme has been redone very extensively inside, my friend recently was allowed into the ls, because she was with a person doing the dive quest program. so she was allowed to walk around the newly redone living seas, and she was shown blue prints....... but she was very vague on details, cuz she's blonde and couldnt remeber, and wasnt allowed to take pics. so the theme IS finding nemo. and there is a part where, in some way, u can get ur nails cleaned by the lil shrimp from finding nemo.... wutever his name is.

Huh, Wuh, Huh?

I was there, and I don't doubt that it is happening, I never did, it just hasn't happened yet, and it most likely won't until right before it opens up in December. You have to remember that they are removing the Hydrolators, which basically is the old exit from the pavilion. That is what your construction walls would be.

The Lysamata species is a cleaner shrimp commonly found in the saltwater aquarium trade. I know they will clean dirt and parasites off of your hand if you put it in an aquarium containing one. I hope WDW dosen't go there. I can only imagine how poluted the water would be after a day of everyone's hands going in.

I'm glad to hear that Living Seas is almost open...I look foward to seeing it for myself when we go back. Or at least when people on the boards post pictures :D (*nudge, nudge*)

*takes one step forward*
Sir! I volunteer for the dangerous picture taking mission Sir!

Seriously, assuming someone hasn't got some taken before then, I'll be there on the Dec 1st and I'll grab a few snaps and fire them up to the site. I dying to see it myself so it's no hardship (yeah right, like WDW is a hardship on anything accept your purse!)

Thanks for sharing this info, JP. You're the BEST!

I hope they will eventually re-reoute the entrance to the old switch-back queue that was blue and resembled the sea. I love that and will miss it if it's gone forever.

As for the sea cabs; any word on when they will be open? In time for the spring break crowds?

Good question! I don't know. On the subject of the SeaCabs, they will return, but most likely not in time for the pavilion's grand re-opening in December. Most likely, it will re-open at the beginning of Epcot's 25th Anniversary celebration...

This sounds great....it sounds like they might not be finished, so hopefully they'll make more enhancements.

I hope the Seacabs return though based on what Corrus said it doesn't sound optimistic.

I'm sorry all the purists don't like the rehab...but no one was going into The Living Seas...it was dying a slow and painful death. If it means increasing the characterization of the pavilion...so be it.

I hope it's open when we get there on Dec. 10th. As far as the "cleaner shrimp" thing goes, my husband has done DiveQuest twice. There is a room behind the diver lockout chamber upstairs that they go to after they complete their dive to watch the video they try to sell you, and give you your dive stamp, t-shirt, etc. There is a small tank up there that has a couple of fish, starfish, and the cleaner shrimp. You're allowed to put your hands in and touch things, and the dive master said that if you hold really still, they will come up and "clean" your fingers. Your friend probably went up after the dive was over and saw the small tank.

That would make sense, I can't wait until my Scuba certification is finished, because then I am able to do Divequest with my father and brother and that will be awesome! :sohappy:

Cleaner Shrimp! WOW maybe there is way to get those little suckers into the soap dispensers throughout EPCOT. Not that I'm lazy or anything but they could come up with some great signs above the sinks

"Squeeze Shrimp onto hands"
"Stand Still and let them go to work"
"Then run over to Tempura Kiku in Japan for chopsticks" :slurp:

But on the serious side, Althought I hate to see things changed, if they do it right they can use NEMO to still educate people, plus I think Crush was a great addition.

Unfortunatley we have to realize that kids (and adults) now a days need more to stimulate them to learn not just the regular museum type displays. I see more interactive stuff going into museums all the time. I live in the Wash. D.C. area and all of the museums are trying to come up with more interactive things to get poeple interested.
