Rates on cabins?

I remember reading that the Fort Wilderness cabins were now considered a moderate resort, does this mean the cabins will now be priced along side CBR, POR & CS? I checked disney.com yesterday and they were still $100 more per night... maybe the prices haven't taken effect yet??

Resort category doesn't specify room pricing....it's a general grouping of resorts with similar amenities (restaurant, pool, etc.)

The cabins will never be priced like the standard moderate rooms, because they're much larger, have multiple rooms, sleep more people, and have kitchens. Consider the junior suites at CSR - they cost far more than the standard rooms at CSR, yet both are in the 'moderate' category.

Another example: the family suites at ASM. They're priced much higher than the standard rooms at the All-Stars, yet both are in the 'value' category.

Right. WDW can say that per person, based on max occupancy for the units, the family suites are priced like values and the cabins are priced like mods.

I thought that the only reason WDW was classifying the FW cabins as a "Moderate resort" is to lump the cabins in with the other moderate resorts when it comes to promotions. For instance, when the Basic Dining Plan becomes a reality, and WDW has free dining promotions, deluxe resorts will get the free regular dining plan, the moderate resorts (plus FW cabins) will get the basic dining plan. Considering most standard rooms in Deluxe resorts accomdate 4 people max, and the cabins (which are less expensive than many deluxe resorts) accomodate up to 6, it was a cost-cutting maneuver to make sure the cabins don't look as much of a value when it comes to dining plan promotions (or annual passholder discounts or other possible promotions).
