We've always been lucky with 7:30 reservations to have dinner on the terrace, finish up and have coffee or cocktails while watching illuminations from our table....makes for a good night.

I have been trying to book a Feb, 2015 for a couple of weeks, and cant get a price. I am really upset that Disney, an American company, gives UK guests first pick and better deals than they do for the American guests. I waited last year, but by the time the rates came out (July 10 or 11 last year) some of the standard rooms at the deluxe resorts were all taken by the UK. This just makes me feel a little betrayed as an American that wants to visit Disney world again.

Then go ahead and book. Call them up on the phone, and they will hold the room for you. You get charged deposit, and then they will adjust when the new rates come out and you can pay the balance.

That makes no sense. Most people don't order something without knowing the cost. Around the time we are going rates change and i want to shop the weeks for the best rates. If I call and book, I would have to change weeks and amounts, possibly locations. The point is the rates and packages have already been released for UK visitors, why not American visitors. Last I checked they were an American company operating in the us. This is very frustrating!

Excuse me? I have called. And booked. $1755 at POFQ for 9 nights. Thus my signature. As the one of the two of us who has called and actually booked a 2015 vacation (from the US of A, no less), I would be the more educated one.

It indeed is.So if we are going for Christmastime 2015, can I book my room now? I have Disney $$$s that will start expiring this December, so I will definitely book by then, but is it possible to book this early?

Yes, I know you can make room only reservations, but.. This is only to hold the room. As per the cast members I spoke with, "when the rates are released the price for your reserved room only wil be adjusted" you can reserve a room 499 days in advance over the phone, however when the new rates come out, your rate is adjusted to the new price also. I have called a few times to verify this.

Ahem (I should point out you can easily verify January rates by asking disneyworld.com to book a vacation for you from 12/31/14 into January and click on rate details to see rates for each night; many rooms show an increase over 2014 rates showing that these are not just "filler" rates):

Really weird that in US you have to wait to book and here in the UK we can book no problem, would have thought Americans would have been able to book first, so am surprised I was able to book for November 2015 including park tickets and free dining, but I have not been given a Disney Reservation number, just the Virgin one so maybe connected somehow

I believe that Virgin has a deal with Disney for a certain amount of guaranteed rooms every month, that's why you are able to book with Virgin. Technically, you don't have a reservation yet, they won't actually make your reservation until 180 days out I believe (at least I thought I read that in another thread). The issue here is that people are trying to book directly with Disney, I am curious if a person from the UK is able to book directly thru Disney at this time?

I would also like to know if an individual from the UK can book directly with WDW and get a guaranteed rate without going through some sort of fly/stay, tour, or travel agent.

I live in the USA and I just booked today for the last week in October and the first week in November.of 2015. I booked room only by phone at Disney reservations. The room rate was up slightly from this year. My confirmation clearly states that the rate is guaranteed unless I change the reservation.
Of course, this is rack rate. It will be up to me to keep trying next year to find a discounted rate for the same room.
