Rare Fairy Visits?

The photo of Vidia training is simple and tradition character training at Epcot. The photo is from August 30th so how that has anything to do with Flower and Garden is beyond me. Vidia is a semi regular character and they were hiring for her in late summer, which is why her friend needed to be trained. Also one day training. That photo is from the same day Meg trained at Epcot. Also one day. Not scheduled. Zero to do with Flower and Garden.

*forehead smack* She was training for MNSSHP. Which is also why you saw Jack & Sally briefly at Epcot and Tarzan & Jan at AK at around the same time.

The misinformation in this thread is so bad.

When Toontown closed Silvermist, Iridessa and Fawn were "retired". Rosetta, Vidia, Terence and eventually Periwinkle are the fairies that meet with Tinker Bell in the nook at Magic Kingdom. The intended plan is Rosetta in Spring, Vidia in Summer, Terence in Fall, Periwinkle in winter. The use of Fawn and Silvermist currently in Magic Kingdom likely has to do with friends of Rosetta being spread thin due to FoF rehearsals and some other character M&Gs I won't discuss for magic purposes. Vidia has also been covering in the Nook and she is not the "scheduled" fairy.

ONE YEAR during Flower and Garden, in between the closing of Toon Town and the opening of the Nook, Tinker Bell met regularly at Epcot. She did so with Vidia, Rosetta and Terence and there was some alternating pattern.

The photos posted above of Fawn, Silvermist, & Iridessa were one day training meets at Epcot in preparation for the Limited Time Magic Fairies week event, which brought back Silvermist, Fawn and Iridessa. This event lasted one week but the training of these characters allows for them to be currently used (which is why they can now be used at the nook).

The fairies have been showing up in Epcot every spring and summer during the Flower and Garden Fest for the last few years observe link https://sites.google.com/site/wdwcharacterhunt/home/categories/tv/tinkerbell

and here are four of them in the same "season" in 2011

That was the first day they met at Epcot in 2011(as I've said twice before) and as you can see it is cold outside that day so they met indoors. After that day there were 4 fairies at a time in the temporary outdoor greet for the duration on the f&g festival in 2011.

Since then they have been in the nook.

And since then, every time they needed to train a new fairy, whether it be f&g, f&w, Halloween, Flag Day, Yom Kippur...they've done the training at Epcot. What part of this is impossible for you to comprehend?

Are you s
Terence was the fairy during MNSSHP primarily. At the time of this training Vidia had about 2 weeks left in her "season" and she always covers. Even when there is a scheduled Fairy, such as right now it is supposed to be Rosetta, Vidia or Terence have always covered and it is why they are trained year round. Apparently Fawn and Silvermist have now been added to that.

Huh. I thought that Terence met in the day and non-party nights, and Vidia was there for the party proper.

No they are not, but nice job trying to derail this thread yet again

anyway... They question asked originally by the OP is why are these Rare Fairies making random appearances in Tinker Bell's M&G is MK. Every answer you have given has been some kind of mean spirited, random, nonsense, but the truth is no one seems to know. But every year in the past, especially years when there is a new movie coming out, they also appear at Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival to promote the new movie. They started in 2009 with the 2nd movie "The lost Treasure" listen to the video below, in the first 30 seconds you'll hear them mention the movie at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

The rare fairies are not related to the new movie...

2008 Pixie Hollow opened with: Tink, Rosetta, Fawn, SIlvermist, Iridessa

Shortly after the location opened, some fairies became more common whereas others started to become harder to find.

2009 Terrence is introduced, in tandem with the "fall" seasoned movie (other fairies still in random rotation but Silvermist & Iridessa started to fade).

2010 Vidia is introduced, in tandem with the "summer" seasoned movie

2011 Pixie Hollow closes so Tink/Terrence, Rosetta/Vidia are moved to Epcot. Timing correlated with F&G so they use the flower area as a set location. F&G ends in May, but fairies stayed at Epcot for a bit longer until the Nook opens...

2011 Nook opens with Tink & rotating/random friends that traveled from Epcot. Nook space is very different so the other fairies (Fawn, Silvermist, Iridessa) essentially become extinct from regular meet and greets.

2012 Peri is introduced, in tandem with the "winter" seasoned movie and this officially kicks off the seasonal rotation with Terrence in fall, Vidia in summer, and Rosetta in spring. Even with the rotation is swing, if a friend is unavailable another would fill in.

2013 brings us Fairy Week for Limited Time Magic, but with such a gap in appearances from Fawn, Silvermist, and Iridessa - they pop up at Epcot to brush up their human communication skills.

Okay - so no new information there - why the sudden rare pop ups now?

If you do a search for Tinker Bell news (Kennythepirate) you'll see that rumor has it the fairy friends are flying away permanently (not confirmed by Disney). It sure is nice that these fairies are making touch base appearances before they all go away. Terrence, Vidia, Fawn and Silvermist have all been in the Nook a handful of times (each) over the last week or so and will likely continue to do so until a move happens. Iridessa may also appear, she just hasn't yet. Rosetta is still the spring fairy and will be there the majority of the time with any other appearances truly random.

So when does the Pirate Fairy move into rotation? She's not. The fairy franchise has been turned off and there will not be any new character for the next movie release.

Sad face about both pieces of news. :-(

By "fairy friends flying away" do you mean that the Veranda is going to close or that Tink is going to be alone?

The current rumor is that Tink will be moving to the presently unoccupied other half of Town Square Theater, with Talking Mickey residing in the other half. No word on what the vacated Nook will become, if anything, though I could see them moving Peter and Wendy in there as their current spot in Fantasyland is a little cramped.

If Tink does move to Town Square, the return of some version of Adventureland Veranda restaurant in Tink's Nook would be interesting. But either a MyMagic+ service center, or another semi-permanent M&G location for a certain new set of characters is more likely, might seem to have more urgency.

edit: Another idea just occurred, moving Tink might be short-term so they can re-theme the Nook to a new Pirate Fairy blu-ray coming out this spring. My nieces' kids love Tink so I might just have to venture into their land to get pics or an autograph again (gasp).

It seems like every so often there's a rumor that the Fairies are going away, and it always kind of seems like they might be. After the third movie, the New Fantasyland plans were changed cutting out Pixie Hollow, and it seemed like they might not be coming back, but now they're about to release a 5th movie and supposedly a 6th one next year. There always seems to be a mixed message with the fairies, something goes away and something new shows up.

This passed September the Pixie Hollow.com site was abruptly shut down, and I saw at Toys R Us last week that they still had these older toys that related to the web site on sale, plus the original dolls had been repackaged with a digital download of the first movie, but the Fairies aisle of their store was now half the size of what it had been at Christmas the other half being replaced by Sophia the First. They did have dolls of the new Pirate Fairy character though...

So my point is I couldn't tell how to read this situation at Toys R Us, I couldn't tell if they were phasing out the Fairy stuff completely or just making room for the upcoming movie, but it's always this way with the fairies, they are always changing up something and no one really seems to know what's going on... and then they come out with something new

I am disappointed to hear this news. I always enjoyed visiting the fairies in ToonTown/Pixie Hollow and I will be sad to see them go. I hope they still make appearances at special events in the future.
