I actually enjoyed Princess and the Frog, but there was no comparison to Beauty and the Beast. That's why I doubt the same comparison for Rapun...I mean "Tangled."

I'm sure the people who claim this is the 2nd coming of "Beauty and the Beast" have not seen the film yet either. :drevil:

No, they haven't. But they're not calling a load of bollocks either. And I'm willing to bet they take the time to judge the movie on its merits too....

Reading is fundamental.

"The test screenings for this film have gotten such good reviews that they have shocked the directors, even press screening gained great reviews. Many of those who have seen the previews compare it to Beauty and the Beast, praising the songs, characters, and plot."

Oh, right. You've been nothing but effusive with your praise over its potential. But at least you were positive about the selections for the M&G...

A bit late on the conversation...

I think that Princess and the Frog was amazing. Better than most movies Disney has put out this decade. Is it the movies fault that America saw Avatar? No. And it by no means effected the quality of the film. It is pretty close to being my favorite Princess movie. And honestly, I think Tangled will be even better. Box office results will have zero effect. Either way, this discussion is a dead horse. Princess and the Frog will gain it's place with the others. Just be patient and you will see. Tangled will be great too. And to the people who won't see it...their loss.

I know a lot of people out there say "Ugh, Randy Newman..he ruined the movie with his music" but to me he captured the feel of New Orleans and was exactly what the film needed.

I went to New Orleans about a month before the movie was released. Randy Newman's score was nothing like the real thing.

I totally agree. "The Princess and the Frog" was amazing. It's become one of my favorite Disney movies - right up there with the likes of "Aladdin" and "Beauty and the Beast". Randy Newman's terrific soundtrack was the best part. The songs in this movie are some of Disney's best. It's a shame that the release was poorly timed (especially since "Avatar" was terrible).

I like what I'm hearing about "Tangled". Between this and "Toy Story 3", Disney is having a banner year in the animation department.

The location of this meet-and-greet is kind of interesting considering what they want to do with it. I'm curiously awaiting the final result.

I really like the song "Almost There", but yeah, the rest of the film's score only had a faint trace of New Orleans jazz/Dixieland. I was really disappointed by that.

I am with you on the Princess and the Frog. It is my favorite princess movie and that is saying a lot since I have always been a loyal Snow White fan. The movie has grown on me for other reasons too though. My 9 month old grand niece is 3/4 African American and so stinkin cute. I am just so happy that she will have a princess that has similar pigmentation. We are making a room for her in our new house and it's being decorated with a Princess and the Frog theme.

As for Tangled, I was interested in what Disney was going to do with the tale from the beginning and that has not changed. The meet & greets look great. I am looking forward to being a FL resident so that I can get my pixie dust fix on a far more regular basis. :sohappy:

So, I'm really excited to see Rapunzel & Flynn, and Tiana & Naveen.

I'm also excited to see Tangled.

The only problem I have with Rapunzel, is that we have yet again, another blond Disney Princess. There are now going to be three...I understand the fairytale and the magical golden hair, but can the next one in the line be another brunette? Maybe one who wears a color other than yellow? I love Belle, with her brains and her personality, not to mention that hair and those eyes...but yellow?

Just give me one more in the line with brown hair and while you're at it, suck it up, pay Amy Adams for her image, and add Giselle to the line too. And Kida. And Eilonwy...they're princesses too...

This just in! The Disneyland Tangled meet and greet has had waits at least as long as 45 minutes already and the movie does not come out for another month. Regardless of what some of you think I believe this movie is going to do well and it deserves any success that comes it's way.

Glad I got to meet 'em in Epcot with only three people in front of me... :p I'm guessing the wait time at Magic Kingdom will be similar to the one at DL. Tiana and Naveen still have a half hour wait every time I go to meet them. There's always a line just to get into the actual queue for when they open it up 20 minutes before they come out.

I can't wait to meet Rapunzel, Flynn, Tiana, & Naveen.

My BF looks like Fylnn, so he wants me to make him a "Flynn Rider" casual vest, so he can get a pic with him. I love this man.
