Random Scenes for M.'s Philharmagic

Disney would never take the time to do it because the "4th dimension" in the "4D" show is the interactivity with timed water, smells, fans, etc

This would require Disney to actually spend money on major reprogamming and 100% digital projection. I believe now, it's some kind of IMAX film, something you couldn't easily "randomize" as you could with digital projection.

@marni1971 might know, but I don't think it has the same capability of a Star Tours, which is all digital projection.

I agree on both fronts- amazing show that is under appreciated and could use some love! Would love to see new scenes added. Heck, even just change one of two of the scenes would be a welcome addition!

Different experiences each times works wonders for Star Tours and would work very well with Philharmagic.

If it's too hard to change the effects with randomized show they could go the Tower of Terror route and just have a few different combinations that play, instead of being truly "random".

I've thought in the past that randomization could work with a new Muppet Vision attraction as well, using different musical numbers in each show.

I always hit Mickey's Philharmagic and love it but I think the video quality needs to go up.

I'm fairly old and thought VHS was a great thing when that came out. DVD's came out and I couldn't watch VHS tapes any more because the quality so much lower. With HD TV I really didn't notice that big of an improvement but over time I seem to have gotten use to things in higher resolution. I have watched a few Imax movies which is where this problem may have started. I look at Mickey's Philharmagic thinking this is low resolution, still watchable but I would like it to be better quality. The film doesn't need to be changed but a big improvement would be high res. That also goes for Soarin especially. Bug's Life also looked low res. to me as well.

You could be right about switching up the films but I think the resolution is a more pressing problem.
Am I the only person who remembers seeing Mickey's Philharmagic back when it was new. I remember the show looked so clean and the 3D popped out more compared to my second time seeing it in 2015.

I've been thinking about this for a pretty long time! The thought has always crossed my mind...

Mickey's Philharmagic.. It's a GREAT 3D film! In fact, it's probably one of Magic Kingdom's BEST attractions, and one of the resort's most underrated attractions of all time! It is a collage of popular, instant classic Disney songs... In this film, we have..

Aladdin - A Whole New World
Fantasia - The Sorcerer's Apprentice
The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World
The Lion King - Just Can't Wait to be King
Beauty & the Beast - Be Our Guest
Peter Pan - You Can Fly

Now.. With all that said. Let's look at Star Tours II. Random scenes! They change each time you ride them! There's a huge variety of combinations... Since we now know that Disney has this type of technology... Wouldn't that be great if they implemented this into Mickey's Philharmagic? Making this attraction worth coming back to over and over again, even more than it already is. Some possibilities..

Hercules - Zero to Hero
Princess & the Frog - I'm Almost There
Tangled - I've Got a Dream
Pinocchio - I've Got No Strings
Alice in Wonderland - A Very Merry Un-Birthday
The Jungle Book - A Wanna Be Like You
Winnie the Pooh - The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers
The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is Halloween (A special halloween scene?)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Topsy Turvy Day
Mulan - I'll Make a Man Out of You
Tarzan - Trashin' the Camp
Lilo & Stitch - He Mele No Lilo

Am I the only one who can see the possibilities? (And probably.. Like.. The only thing where Lilo and Stitch could actually work?) It would be so great!
Now we just have to imagine how Donald would do or act between those new scenes and the hat he's chasing after.

Soooo.. You're saying that Disney won't do with this attraction exactly what they're doing to soarin? Updating the film quality, the film itself, and the effects?

I am pretty sure that a randomization of scenes is NOT difficult to do by any means. So there shouldn't be any problem making the upgrade. It's no different than how Disney upgraded the Star Tours ride. Heck, it isn't even as complicated as making star tours II because they don't have to program a simulator ride. Just some simple theatre effects.

You can't say Disney can't/wont do something if they've already done something exactly the same AND more complex for another attraction already..

I don't think they necessarily need to go with the randomization route (even though I'm not against it), but I love Philharmagic and would love some new scenes.

For Tangled, my pick would be "I See The Light" because I think it would look amazing with the (hopefully cleaned up and improved) 3D effects.

I don't remember it being nicer looking (I was very young at the time) but I do remember long waits. Now you're always in the next showing after you get there.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious could easily work with Donald Duck interacting with the cartoon Dancers and such being swung around and everything while trying to catch his hat.
Okay. With Frozen either In Summer or Let It Go wonder what would happen with Donald while he try to get his hat?

In Summer, he could be swimming in the ocean at the beach trying to get his hat and a shark is trying to get him or something.

Anything can be done for any song. I mean, I'm pretty sure if they never used Part of Your World you wouldn't be able to think what Disney would do for that scene either.
