I've been thinking about this for a pretty long time! The thought has always crossed my mind...

Mickey's Philharmagic.. It's a GREAT 3D film! In fact, it's probably one of Magic Kingdom's BEST attractions, and one of the resort's most underrated attractions of all time! It is a collage of popular, instant classic Disney songs... In this film, we have..

Aladdin - A Whole New World
Fantasia - The Sorcerer's Apprentice
The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World
The Lion King - Just Can't Wait to be King
Beauty & the Beast - Be Our Guest
Peter Pan - You Can Fly

Now.. With all that said. Let's look at Star Tours II. Random scenes! They change each time you ride them! There's a huge variety of combinations... Since we now know that Disney has this type of technology... Wouldn't that be great if they implemented this into Mickey's Philharmagic? Making this attraction worth coming back to over and over again, even more than it already is. Some possibilities..

Hercules - Zero to Hero
Princess & the Frog - I'm Almost There
Tangled - I've Got a Dream
Pinocchio - I've Got No Strings
Alice in Wonderland - A Very Merry Un-Birthday
The Jungle Book - A Wanna Be Like You
Winnie the Pooh - The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers
The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is Halloween (A special halloween scene?)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Topsy Turvy Day
Mulan - I'll Make a Man Out of You
Tarzan - Trashin' the Camp
Lilo & Stitch - He Mele No Lilo

Am I the only one who can see the possibilities? (And probably.. Like.. The only thing where Lilo and Stitch could actually work?) It would be so great!

Philharmagic was one of my favourite attractions and I could watch it again and again. I think your idea is amazing and would make me want to go even more! I'd like to see 'Out There' from Hunchback as I think Notre Dame would be truly stunning if done properly.

I also agree that the image quality could be upgraded. Time for a refurb and upgrade?

I always hit Mickey's Philharmagic and love it but I think the video quality needs to go up.

I'm fairly old and thought VHS was a great thing when that came out. DVD's came out and I couldn't watch VHS tapes any more because the quality so much lower. With HD TV I really didn't notice that big of an improvement but over time I seem to have gotten use to things in higher resolution. I have watched a few Imax movies which is where this problem may have started. I look at Mickey's Philharmagic thinking this is low resolution, still watchable but I would like it to be better quality. The film doesn't need to be changed but a big improvement would be high res. That also goes for Soarin especially. Bug's Life also looked low res. to me as well.

You could be right about switching up the films but I think the resolution is a more pressing problem.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but Disney could do the same thing that they're doing for Soarin! They're upgrading both the film quality and the film at the same time. It's not like that issue couldnt be solved at the same time the other is going on, since the attraction would have to be shut down altogether for either purpose for a certain amount of time anyways.

Was just thinking of something. What if they also upgraded Soarin' Not what they are doing with the upgrade now. But, made it 3-d to go with the smells and add water effects or something too. Plus made some random scenes, like in Star Tours. Maybe add some fake drop scenes. Always thought it would be fully if the hang glider guy hit a bird and started doing a fast downward spiral. Now, that would be thrilling. I'm sure it would be havoc on the ride system mechanics though. Anybody for disco Soarin'.

Just a thought. ;)

Also, would each different show end with Donald going through the wall and then falling? The kids seem to love that!!
They could make more random scenes with Donald in them. They could have maybe Fifty different clips and then randomly put them together to make a show out of maybe eight or however many they want to make a complete show experience. And at the ending Donald would still be able to hit the back wall. the front and back clips would always be the same. Donald takes the hat and Mickey gets it back in the end. But, all the stuff in the middle would be randomized.

That would be cool.
