Random CM Question

I didn't mind the few times it happened to me. First of all, if it enhances
"the guest experience" in the end, that means it enhances my experience, and obviously those around me... i want everyone to be enjoying themselves at the World. Next, if you DO mind, to me it's kind of laziness at that point. I mean, you're walking that way anyway, it's a matter of holding a card and handing it to someone..... get over yourself and help the CM out, geez!

Simple question: how do ya'll feel about being asked to do the FLIK cards? I know it's not a terrible burden, but I still always feel terrible asking people to do us a favor (even if it's to help guests, it still seems like putting upon you guys). Basically I just never feel like you guys have any reason to help, but I ask you every five minutes, anyway.

I usually try and find a younger guest and ask him or her to do an important job for me, and give them an honorary prince/princess sticker if they do.

But yeah, just wondering how guests actually feel when they're given a red card.

I love it and actually look forward to it. When last i visited the Park, i scored with being able to do it 3 times, once each at BTMR, Soarin', and M:S.

I guess i get them a lot as i tend to greet the CM's at the queue and maybe this makes it easier for them to ask me. Instead of your usual dis-embodied Guest, here you have someone eager and willing to say hi to you and want to help out. If i was in the CM's position at Attractions, i know i would feel more comfortable giving the cards out to such a person. It has gotten to the point now where if i see a CM holding a few cards waiting to pass them out i will often ask if they would like me to take one. So i make it easy for ya!

On my most recent visit i had a friend with me when we were asked to take some FLIK cards through the wait. He shocked me by deciding to keep his! I gave him grief for the rest of the day, as for me that was totally TABOO and a big no-no. In the end i think he did manage to pass it in....two hours later at a completely different ride! I am sure the CM's were fuming over that ....but then again SG's probably do this all the time....

I don't mind at all. I appreciate all the many CMs who make my stay so wonderful so if there is ever anything I can do to return the favor, well count me in.

I enjoy it! It's not exactly a burden. I think it's kind of fun and makes me feel oh-so-slightly important.

Plus, I know how helpful those line wait time signs are for us, so if that's what I can do to help others in the same boat, then that's fine with me!

Ive used it a couple of times. A quick question though? What is the purpose of handing them out in the fastpass line? Last time, I got one while walking through the fastpass line on TSM, how does it help with fastpass. As far as getting it in the regular line, I hardly go all the way through, unless the line is really really short.

I've been asked a couple of times the past two trips and I don't mind at all. It really does make you feel helpful and honored to be of assistance.

This is absolutely true. I feel very uncomfortable trying to pick a guest to ask. I'm worried that none of them want to be bothered. And when they can't speak English sometimes and don't know what I'm asking, I just feel like an idiot. So a friendly guest who has already talked to me is much easier for me to ask a favor from.

Actually I feel very important when given one of those cards.

:king:

Ditto!

So, it's ok to actively ask for a card?

Are there times when you simply do not bother? I've seen a few queues where there were a bunch of cards hanging near the entrance, obviously not in rotation, and the wait time did not seem to reflect the current state of the queue.

Also seen where a CM would just take a card off the hook, scan it, and put it back. What's that do?

Usually only late at night or if we're low on cards and not likely to get more sent up for whatever reason.

Well we don't just constantly send cards until we run out and then wait for them to come back. We send a card every five minutes when a little beeper tells us to.

Stops the beeping.
