Rainy days.....poncho or umbrella?

I'm not going to lie, I've wanted to bring an umbrella for us but I always forget and we have ponchos. While they work decently, they don't protect well against the knee and below and it's a hassle being told to take them off by CM's at one ride but not the other. So it becomes a guessing game, which wouldn't be a problem with an umbrella.

Yes to the banning of the giant backpacks. I have been hit by more hiking style, stuffed to to the brim backpacks than I have been hit by strollers, wheelchairs or EVC's combined. I honestly don't see how people have an enjoyable experience with a 50lb pack on their back, but to each their own....until they start smacking me with it.

Umbrella. I swear I get wetter trying to put on and take off a poncho than I do from the rain. Also, I've never hit anyone in the face with my umbrella and I don't sit my wet umbrella on seats.

Hey everyone! So just checked the weather for our Anniversary getaway this weekend. They are calling for rain 3 of the 4 days we are going to be in the park. The rain doesn't scare me but wondering what every one's choice on what to use. Thanks for your input!

Ponchos and flip flops.

I brought a Frogg Togg poncho with me last time and my North Face rain jacket. I used the rain jacket more and let one of my friends borrow the poncho. Downfall with the jacket is it doesn't cover very far below the belt line. It never bothered me as the pants I was wearing were fast drying.

I've refrained from bringing my packs to parks...I usually carry a camel back pack. You don't have to just worry about hitting people with a big backpack, but also keep your balance

I bring both if it is summer but this is a sprinkle this weekend and will be hit or miss. Bring an umbrella to get from dry place to dry place and enjoy your visit.

Poncho. Umbrellas in a crowded place like Disney are an eye poke waiting to happen. I purchase the disposable ones in the camping section at Target and keep a few in my Disney bag that holds all our trip info. I also have a nice rain jacket from LLBean that I bring if its going to be more of an all day monsoon rather than the 5 minute afternoon thunder boomers. And check the Weather Channel every day starting about 5 days before our trip.

A wet umbrella doesn't occupy an entire seat surface like a wet poncho wearer does. At most, the ground gets wet with an umbrella.

True, but I have a small cloth I carry in my backpack I use to wipe off the bus seat if it is wet from my poncho.

I don't tie up one of my hands wearing a poncho.

Rainjacket. Neither poncho or umbrella. Much easier to take off when inside, fold up inside out to keep others from getting wet, does a better job of keeping me dry than an umbrella especially if breezy and easier to carry.

Ditto. We packed our daughter's raincoat for our trip last May, and wow did we ever need it. My husband & I opted for poncho's since we didn't pack raincoats for ourselves.

Except when soaking wet poncho wearers sit on a bus or other dry area and leave it wet.
THANK YOU!!! This is exactly it. Drives me batty!! People just leave the poncho on and get on a ride dripping wet and leave the seat full of puddles for the next person.

Not to mention, I can't count how many times I've had someone in a poncho push past me, thereby rubbing their wet poncho against my now-wet skin and clothes.

Sometimes a poncho, but usually an umbrella. Depends on the weather. Being encased in plastic when it's 85 degrees is not my idea of fun. It's like a sauna under there.

Oh, and I've never hit anyone with my umbrella because I am careful.
