Rainforest Cafe

I would like to know what people think about the Rainforest Cafe. We are going to WDW in October and my daughter (who is 10), really wants to go there. From the books I have read, it is very over rated and the parents think it's "ok", but not great. The one we would probably go to is the one at Animal Kingdom, not Downtown Disney. I heard that they don't take priority seating and the wait is very long.

Thanks

I think Rainforest Cafe is great. The food is average as is the service, but the atmosphere makes up for that. I personally like the one in Downtown Disney better because of the volcano... but your right, it has a very long wait. The inside to both are pretty much the same.

So, since it will be your first time, GO. You won't be disapointed.

I totally agree with WDWImagineer. GO! I love the atmosphere....the food is not bad either, I like it... The portions are huge!
The one at AK is the biggest in the world, so try that one... they all look the same!

One caveat-- the mists and such that make it feel like a rainforest inside can cause asthma attacks and allergic reactions--I think there's a lot of mold because everything is wet.... My mom got very sick and couldn't breathe there once.... It bothered me, but not enough to leave... ;)

I think everyone should eat at the Rainforest Cafe' at least ONCE to experiance it. It's a great place to take the kids. However..If you prefer quiet dining, this is definitely NOT the place to eat.

about the rainforest

Just like everyone said, the atmosphere is awesome.

The one at Downtown Disney is great. THe volcano is amazing.

Also, at Downtown disney, you can walk to some shops during your wait, and time will go by faster. The food is pretty good, but the service is not all that great. Although I heard they got better.

The rainforest is definately a MUST SEE experience.

If i remember correctly, Its not a "wait for your name to be called"type wait. Its a "come back at 4:00" thing. They call your name at that time like "will ______come to the front now, your adventure is about to begin!".

So its not too bad.

hope this helps!

What kind of a duck do you guys think I am?

If I had been with her and she said we were leaving, that would have meant EVERYONE...

We have dined at both AK and DD and found DD to be better, we had a late lunch there about 3pm and didn't have to wait at all. The service in the AK was dreadful but in DD we had no complaints. The kids love the place so we will be back.

LOL.... honestly, what kind of woman do you all think I am?

I did think the food was overpriced, but I ate here... it would probably not seem so overpriced if I were paying Disney prices to eat...I guess if I were younger it would be cooler...

I don't want to talk you out of eating at Rainforest Cafe, I think everyone should eat there at least once. However, most cities/malls have or will be getting a Rainforest Cafe at some point. There are so many other great restaurants at WDW that I would not want you to waste a meal.

Go, it's a great place, I have only been to the Downtown Disney, and we loved it, I thought the food was good! You can make Priority Seating arrangements at the Animal Kingdom one. I made mine and can't wait! Enjoy the Magic!!

I was at DD sept 30th 2001 ,and the prices went up drasticly on food but not on the merchandie at the Rainforest cafe. I'v been to five of them now and there fun ,only the attitude of the hosts and hostess's did not go with us well. Except for the drama queen in Chicago's rainforest, what a flammer :and I don't mean Kentuky Fried Chicken rotissery either..... . Check out there web site for locations near you , i prefer the Rainforest at Animal Kingdom myself.
