Rain Poncho "Do You"

We wear the ponchos in cooler rainy weather. In the summer when it's a light rain or just the passing afternoon rain, we usually don't bother. I do bring a spare pair of shoes so that I have a dry pair for the next day if they don't dry out overnight.

Also I very much dislike when people wear ponchos on the water rides. It's a water ride; you're supposed to get wet!

AGREED!!

last time i was at EMH we were going on Splash in the pouring rain, so we were wearing our poncho's anyway. They told us we had to take them off

I wear one round my waist on water rides. In August, with the humidity, it takes ages for your underwear to dry out, and walking round with soggy undies then makes you all sore in the groin area (which then impedes your progress for the rest of the vacation).

I would agree that for those of us who usually go during the off season, ponchos are neccessary.

Getting wet during the summer months isn't so bad because you dry off pretty quickly and you actually welcome the coolness of the rain. Getting wet in December, January or February is miserable! It just makes you cold and drying off isn't easy. It can be a pain to carry it around once it stops raining but, it is worth it to be dry.

LMAO! You are right, though. Who wants to continue walking around WDW with chafing?????

No poncho nor will I go running for the nearest open door to get inside. It's just water, not like I'm going to melt. But it is fun to watch all the people on vacation go running for shelter from the rain, even when they are wearing poncho's.

I used to get them, but I found that I get more humidity under the poncho and feel more uncomfortable when I wear them than I do when I am not wearing them.

Exactly! I feel like I'm suffocating. I might feel otherwise in the winter, but we always go in the summertime. Say no to ponchos!

I always have my poncho ready if it looks like rain. While they're often uncomfortable and don't really cover you from the knees down, they're great when a heavy downpour starts. While everyone ducks for cover, you can still walk around and go on rides. For some reason it always seems to rain when I'm in Epcot, so walking around the World Showcase in the rain isn't as bad in a poncho.

I always get a poncho when we go and it is raining (then again, we normally go in November so it's cooler out at times) I love taking pics of my dd in them (the first time she was at WDW she was 3 and the child poncho came down to the ground on her- she looked like ET :D)

Yes I am a poncho wearer, although one year we bought them, then left them in our room the day we went to the MK and it rained all day!!!!! But we had already bought them and we didn't want to buy more so we just stayed wet all day!

I hate ponchos, they seem like they have no good use. Just wear a sweatshirt or a jacket. As for Umbrellas, Yes, Ban them, Ive Gotten Poked Fairly Hard In the Eye with one and Had to Go to First Aid. Ponchos are, in my mind, only good for water rides like Kali River Rapids.

I dislike ponchos too, except they can keep you pretty warm if it's cold. Man, i almost started an argument with my mom cuz i refused to wear the one she got me but in the end i had too or no souvineers

No ponchos, and no umbrellas. I'm a macho man, baby!
We buy them and then don't use them! I always save them if there different. Just another thing I like to keep!! The one year we went with my in-laws they bought them for us so my husband didn't want his parents to feel like they wasted the money so we wore them.

I always bring my poncho with every trip. They fit nicely in a pak too. I also dont like getting poked with an umbrella nor do I want to accidently poke anyone else. This way you are also hands free and can carry more souvenirs. :)

I have a "stylish" rain jacket that you can wad up small enough to fit in your hand. I always bring that because it's less dorky than a poncho. But hubby and the kids still wear the ponchos. We don't bother with umbrellas because we have to push strollers around.
