Just wondering who here gets a Poncho when It rains. I do not, but my wife will. The rain does not bother me. What does bother me are puddles and my shoes get wet. I hate that.

But for me wearing a poncho I feel silly.

We used to tough it out...but one summer it was a torrential downpour the entire week that we were there....half way through we figured that once we bought the ponchos that it would finally stop raining ...a small investment trying to save the remainder of the vacation.....it didn't work...lol...it just kept on raining. Now we just bring them...I'll put my on before DH drags his out...but he eventually gives in now that he's getting a bit older...lol.

We always buy Ponchos when we hit WDW, it makes for a nice collectible afterwards and my wife always puts a piece in her memory book. I usually don't use the hood but I don't like to be soaking wet so I wear it. We even have the Mickey in the Poncho pin on our last lanyards!

We have a few sets of Yellow Mickey ponchos. We each carry our own. I hate wet clothes more that wet shoes.

For a little shower I don't bother. When it's belting down then I will. As much to protect the camera kit as not wanting to walk around in wet clothes.

We'll protect our stroller(s) if it starts to be more than a sprinkle, and I won't put one on unless it's really coming down and I know I'm going to be outside for more than a minute or two. Basically, if I won't be in the rain long enough to get soaked, I won't put one on. :)

We usually bring our Wal-Mart ponchos us to FL. Then, we'll get tired of carrying them after a couple of days when it doesn't rain. So, we'll leave them in the room (or locker), and then end up buying Mickey ponchos because of an afternoon thunderstorm!

If it is light rain we tough it out, but we have two large ponchos that we put over us and our stuff....(basically like a tent over our wheelchairs) so that none of MJ's medical stuff gets ruined.... It is a pretty nifty set up if I do say so myself....

Umbrellas all the way. Ponchos are just hot and uncomfortable.

I take it then that you have never been poked in the face with an umbrella that was blocking the user's view? IMHO, they are dangerous to the other people trying to make their way thru the parks in the rain.

Yes Ban them! Man I was smashed in the head by an Umbrella on my last trip by a lady who was trying to escape the park, a hit hard enough to take out an eye if she had hit me in the head. She didn't even acknowledge me just kept running.

Nothing says Disney more than a rain poncho..; ).

Funny story:They are helpful...except when you're running through Epcot barefoot...
My friend has a phobia of lightening. So when there was a HUGE thunderstorm June 2004 (for our grad trip) she freaked out in Alfredo's at Italy. I had her hiding underneath my arm and we couldn't run to the buses in our flip flops because there were these enormous puddles everywhere(God..why did I wear them that day..) and we ended up running barefoot.

THANKFULLY, I didn't hurt my feet. But it's something I don't plan on doing ever again...ever.....ever ever...

I'm really not a fan of ponchos. The only time I've ever worn one was as a CM during parade/Wishes duty only because I was in the rain for such a long time with no chance at shelter. So it was either suck it up with the CM poncho or get sick from being wet for many hours. Also I very much dislike when people wear ponchos on the water rides. It's a water ride; you're supposed to get wet!

I used to get them, but I found that I get more humidity under the poncho and feel more uncomfortable when I wear them than I do when I am not wearing them.
