Rain- Best and Worst Places to be Stuck

What is the best or worst place you've been stuck in a downpour at WDW?

Worst for me- Swiss Family Treehouse. When it started raining, I thought it would be a good idea to go to the top of the treehouse and enjoy the view from above. Unfortunately, the people ahead of us hunkered down in the covered area and stopped moving. There were people behind us as well. We couldn't go up or down, were stuck halfway up on the steps until the rain stopped, and got drenched.

Best for me- China pavilion. There was plenty of room with seating and not crowded, Mulan was meeting guests, an art exhibit, movie, etc.

the whole park of animal kingdom to me, when it rains super hard it almost seems like there's like really no place to take cover there. of course there are places, but if you're walking the trails you don't really have much to work with.

the best would be epcot, lots of places to be indoors.

My worst was when Inwent into 7DMT (singlerider) and heading into the inside queue, it was overcast but not raining. The ride blasts outdoors and deluge! Sitting in the slow part of the ride with rain bucketing down, all the while the woman next to me in a white tank top. We both ended up laughing about it and unsurprisingly it was the first pic my wife ditched off our Photopass 😂

I also vote for the land as the best place to get stuck, but I also love the Animal Kingdom. Find someplace to hide if you have to but ride it out and when it's over the animals become so active.
I've never found a worst place to be stuck in the rain because every downpour has produced a good story. Like being on a bench with an umbrella in HS, attempting to stay dry, until the flood beneath my family's feet is worse than the rain coming down.

Worst: On the tram between the DHS gate and our vehicle, which was parked at the end of the row. Spielberg clouds overhead, roaring winds buffeted us while sheets of rain soaked us as we dashed down the row. Got the van started, went full heat and A/C at the same time to dry us out, and the radio let us know we were in a tornado warning zone.

Best: Any bar.

One of the worst for me was once on Rise of the Resistance between the briefing room and the transport shuttle. It wasn’t raining when we got in line and by the time we were out of the briefing room, it was pouring. They at least gave us ponchos after the ride!

It’s not a ride but the walkway from the Polynesian to Shades of Green. We were at Disney Springs and were heading back to the hotel and decided to hop on the Polynesian bus. It started to pour by the time we got to the Polynesian and attempted to do the walk back to the hotel but there was too much lightning. We ended up chilling at the Poly until it let up.

Anywhere really. I've visited florida from the UK about 10 times but never at this time of year...I would never come again at this time. Whole evenings at the parks totally washed out, each and every day of our holiday so far. Paid for a Disney hotel specifically because of the skyliner to HS and Epcot only to find every single night the Skyliner has been cancelled due to storms.

Epcot for us has been the worst place to get stuck in the rain due to the huge distance between each attraction.

The best for me would be, as a kid, the time we were 'forced' to take shelter in Disney Quest from the weather. Best day ever. Worst, probably the time we entered test track line with relatively clear skies, only to come out for the speed test in pelting rain/hail.

about 5 years ago it was our final day of the trip at epcot. we were just walking out of the land pavilion & i felt a few drops fall. we whipped out our ponchos & man did the skies open. we headed back to the land pavilion to relax. 30 minutes later we ventured out & made it to china before it poured again. after that it was warm & sunny. cant recall having a real bad experience with the rain. 1 should expect it in florida.

Best... Inside a restaurant after just being seated. By the time the check comes the rains over with and you just have to deal with the wet sidewalks. Nothing better than hearing the rain hit the roof while you are enjoying a drink and thinking... Gee it must be raining out there.
Worst... As another mentioned, AK. Very little places to find cover especially when you are on a trail or pathway thats a distance from cover. Then the humidity gets worse after the rain.

Can't think of a worst honestly, but the best was when it started pouring as we were walking through Liberty Square. It was our first trip and we weren't familiar with HoP. By chance we just ducked in the first open door we could find which ended up being the HoP. It's actually kinda funny. Being our first time, despite my wife doing a lot of research, she hadn't read up on the HoP. So while it was pouring we went into the show. We were watching the projector show, and I leaned over and told my wife (then my girlfriend in the late '90s) that this was a really pathetic "attraction" for Disney. I hadn't even finished my sentence when the curtains started to raise/draw and revealed the real attraction. My jaw dropped and I just leaned back over 10 seconds later and said something like "yeah, I was wrong." 🤣

Worst: The outside loop on Test Track. It feels like getting pelted with tiny razor blades.

Best: Used to be Innoventions. But any show or 3D show suffices.
Worst is if your ride car breaks down on the outer loop track backstage Test Track.

Worst- Animal Kingdom. No shelter to speak of. All those lovely trees that provide shade on hot days become conduits for rainwater to cascade right down on your head.

Best - the gift shop for Tower of Terror. It's a cool place to hang around waiting for the rain to stop. And it had inexpensive rain ponchos, if you're unlucky enough not to be carrying an umbrella (I was unlucky on that particular rainy day).

Best any bar, the Land, heck most of EPCOT
Worst: I'm going against the grain and say MK due to everybody all crowding into the same places making the park feel even more congested
Surprise I just roll with it and it can even bring a smile to my face: AK because crowds leave the park so when the rain stops many things can be a walk on even more so when it's just your usual late afternoon Florida thunderstorm. As long as Kali doesn't shut down that can be fun because you're going to get wet any way
