There is a train every 5 minutes and every time I have gone it is pretty consistant. I went there last week, I think it would be about a mile away and a average paced walk it would take around 20 minutes. There is already a lot of walking at the Ak and I do not think people would to walk any more than necessary especially when it is hot out.

But its the fact that you don't have a choice that puts people off. Knowing that you have to take the train, surely affects people.

Especially brits, we know trains never run on time!

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
On our last trip it was sad to see so many kids being rude to CMs who were trying to get them interested in conservation. The best thing about that area is the fact its quiet its a refuge from the heat and crowds on a busy summers afternoon, even the train trip can help with a gentle breeze.

Cant see how they can make an alternative route out there unless theres some major backstage redevelopment, if you think how close the train runs to the animal enclosures how long would it take till some half witt had climbed the fence?

I can't find the picture anymore, but last time i saw the map of the park i remember thinking that, were they to put in a path on the other side of the conservation station (away from the train route) then they could have a relatively short walk into the main body of the park again.

Or am i just making that up?

Yeah, I've just looked at the map, and conservation station is really not very far from the back of asia. A link onto the maharajah jungle trek would make it a 5 minute walk maybe?

Or if they added an E-ticket Mtn. attraction behind there, with a new "outpost" for the park, a new mini-land area (like Chester and Hester's but not quite so cheesy;) ) it would be even shorter!

Come to think of it, isn't that where they were meant ot be clearing land for a new E-ticket? (There was a thread about that a while ago.)

It would just be logical to complete the circle!
