I really liked the bunny chow itself, but the bread bowl was weird. I thought the one we got was chewy and stale-tasting. It king of turned me off the whole dish. I think the NZ booth was using the same bread for its meatball last year. Regrettable.

That's awful. I remember the bread bowl we had was soft, warm, tastey and worked really well with the dish. Could have just been one of those things where you may have gotten the tail end of a batch and we scored a fresher one. It happens to us all at WDW. At least you liked the chow itself, so that's a plus.

WHAT!!!! I haven't been there since October 2011 and they had five different cold sausages sliced on platter near the salad fixens. That is sad. I really love the Biergarten. :bawling:

Are we not counting things like the cold sausage salad?

No, really, it's pretty good. It's a salad...made from sausages!!!!

Maybe I hit a bad day on both occasions. But I ate there once for lunch in 2011 and once for dinner this past May. Both times, all they had were Bratwurst and Kockwurst. The first time I thought it was just the lunch menu ( I was severely dissapointed when I learned they don't serve Saurbraten at lunch as well), but it was the same this time as well. Don't mean to start a panic though, I'd be more than happy to find out I was just unlucky. :)

They also don't serve the Braised Beef Roulade or Herring Salat, but I do not like the herring. For a $12 per person savings for lunch I can pass on the few missing items.

I don't begrudge them the ability to serve a limited menu at lunvh. I was only dissapointed that I didn't get to eat their saurbraten. My family is German and we serve Saurbraten at holidays and special occasions. So, I'm always interested to try it from other sources since its a difficult dish to come by.

It was completely my own fault. It said it right on the menu I had looked at prior to making the reservation. I just missed it.

The Queso Fundido at the San Angel Inn..

Munster cheese, peppers and chorizo sausage, wrapped up in a soft tortilla. They used to mix it all together on a hot plate at your table and load it into the tortillas. So sad to see it gone(it's actually been gone for a while).. We now make it at home when we have the urge, but it's not the same... Also, you used to be able to order a pitcher of red sangria. Sadly, last october when we went we were told we could no longer order it that way. Haven't been overly thrilled with the restraunt in general the last couple times we were there, but we are gluttons for punishment and have an ADR there for our upcoming trip in November..

I understand. I love good sauerbraten and the Biegarten's is ok. I like my sauerbraten to have a good twang to it and theirs just doesn't quite have it.

Agreed. My theory is that they aren't brining it long enough for the lemon and onion to seep in since the have to deal with factory level output to meet the crowds. SO, its not as tender or tangy as it should be.

Sorry for the Braten tangent. Back to RIP foods. :)

The carrot cake from the Main Street Bakery. It was SO awesome. I don't even know where else on property you can get it anymore.

The chicken and wild rice soup at Sleepy Hollow. Didn't get it often because Florida is normally too hot for soup, but man...the handful of cold nights I was able to get it, it really hit the spot.

I know I'm forgetting things but those two came to mind immediately.
