We once were able to get a PS the same day however it was for 8:30 or 9:00. It was our first dinner at O'hana and it has become one of our most favorite restaurants. :slurp:

Definitely you will need priority seating but usually the later seatings are more available at later dates. These days you need priority seating at almost every restaurant (save Marrakesh I think because it's hidden at the back of it's pavilion). My mom and I had trouble getting same day seating at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge when we were there this last November and we were guests at that hotel.

Definitely make reservations for Ohana! If you can't get them when you first try, keep calling back now and again before your visit. People cancel. We've gotten reservations for various places that way. :)

Have fun!

Do your best to make reservations. The experience is wonderful. I remember the fresh pineapple with caramel sauce - what our waiter called "Hawaiin Peptobismol."

The pineapple and caramel is soooooooooo yummy!!!!! By the way.... Did i mention it was soooooooo yummy?????!!!!

Our "cousin" waitress (everyone's referred to as family there) advised us it was a "palate pleaser":slurp:

Im not a seafood eater (never tried any type of seafood) and I was kinda freaked out because I dont like seafood touching my other foods...and OHANA was soooo accomodating..they prepared my food on its own side of the HUGE GRILL. The head chef came over and explained what steps he would take to assure that seafood didnt touch my other food. By the way...im not picky...i just get grossed out over seafood:hurl:.

I booked O'hana at about 60 days out for the first night of our late May trip. I had several choices of times. A week later, we decided to change our ADR. No luck. The place was booked for the entire week. Then, we arrived 7 hours behind our planned schedule and missed our dinner here. We called nearly every day of our 10-day stay to try to catch a cancellation. Again, no luck. Of course, this is for a party of 5; and I've been told that all of the WDW restaurants have far more tables for 4 or fewer than for larger groups. But...that is yet another issue. If you'd like to try O'hana, make an ADR ASAP.

Call early... and one extra hint: try to book your seating time for appx. an hour before Wishes.

You'll be able to see Wishes from Ohana, they'll dim the lights and pump the music thru the restaurant.

And tell your kids (if you're travelling with any) to bone up on their hula hoop skills :)

Enjoy!

Don't worry, you'll enjoy it.

It was funny how we ended up at O'hana's. I had just watched Lilo and Stitch so the saying about O'hana was fresh in my head. Later that weekend I was flipping through the Birnbaum's book and opened it to the dining section right on the page with O'hana. Figured it was a sign or something and now it's one of our favourite restaurants.

Did anyone else think that the warm towels that they give you at the end of your meal was such a nice touch! I LOVED that. It was such a wonderfully magical dinner!!!!!:dazzle:
