The bar was standing room only, the bartender said he was going to call management but that never seemed to happen while we were there, we only stayed about 1/2 hour after they arrived, the second time. They were there whooping it up acting like idiots, then left to see British Invasion, we all breathed a sigh of relief then they came back after British Invasion, by then the place was packed anyways, they picked right up where they left off, took over the whole front of piano area and end of bar as well as the bathroom hallway.

I need to note that these people were not Pop Warner, they were young american adults ranging from 21 to 30 totally smashed, many stateing they will be passed out by 8:00pm acting like total *&^holes, I was truly embarassed to be an american, as I said before we were talking with an English couple who said they couldnt stand it and left. I have no idea why management did not show up while we were there, perhaps they did after we left, we didnt wait around as I was going to personally start throwing them out myself with 2 other Gentlemen, then my wife reminded me that we would most likely lose our Disney Privlages, Annual Pass , maybe even be banned, making our DVC Membership useless. (I hate having to keep a cool head when someone just outright needs a smack in the head to wise up)

To be honest I have no idea where management or security was. I was shocked that there was no security, we never saw any come through Rose N Crown whole trip.

It was a real downer as we love the Rose N Crown so much.

I wonder if you would have seen so many problems at Epcot if P.I. were still open. I have to say that I rarely see a lot of trouble makers at WS. I know that it is probably just a small percentage of people who cause trouble, as you said, but I think I will avoid the POP warner crowd in the future.:)

It seems like they should not have even been served any more alcohol at this point.

Just needed to add my two cents into this report. We were there for almost the exact same stay just a little earlier (Thanksgiving day arrival). Compaired to our visit in '06 the crowds seemed a lot heavier to us, we may have just gotten incredibly lucky in '06 with an early Thanksgiving day but there was a lot of huffing from my wife as we tried dodging strollers and scooters for 12 days.

I can confirm the account that there seemed to be an inordinate amount of drunk people in Epcot on Walt's birthday, Friday 12/05. Very loud, very rude people who obviously were infrequent guests or just don't appreciate the magic that is WDW.
As for the Pop Warner crowd....never and I mean NEVER stay at POR the first 2 weeks of December. That place was a mess. A running back or good blocking fullback was necessary just to get a cup of coffee in the morning and don't block the beer section of the cooler at night or the coach from the Jersey/New York team would put you into the pasta line like you were a tackling dummy. Thanks to these people though we are now proud members of the DVC. Just itching to spend our points in the Kidani Village as soon as possible. :D

You will love the DVC, our biggest problem is we didn't buy in earlier, with all the cash trips I have taken I't would have paid for itself by now. We Love It! Just bought 100 added Points at Bay LAke towers and can't wait:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:

I have spent hours on the member site already. The wife is getting slightly annoyed that we have the next 3 or 4 vacations planned already. With all the different places available to go I'm chomping at the bit just to reserve rooms. We made that same statement that we should have bought in 8 years ago when we were down.
It is difficult to say "no" walking through those incredible display models at the Preview Center. This should be in another thread though.

Just arrived home yesterday after staying at POFQ 12/5 - 12/10.

POFQ seemed to have been spared the "Pop Warner Onslaught" - no hide nor hair of em at POFQ that I saw.

Attendance seemed average for Sat and Sunday, saw a few Pop teams at MK, but not bad. Maybe I picked the wrong day, but Tuesday at Epcot was the largest crowd I have seen in several trips back to WDW. I have almost never waited in lines for living seas, Spaceship Earth, or imagination, but there were 15 min waits this go around.

A number of Argentinian groups also at EPCOT, not sure if they were pop warner affiliated or just younger tours groups.

Other than the nighttime shows, no attitude issues to report here. I can't believe how many people try to cram into a 5' space around the world showcase lagoon for Illuminations though, almost got in a fight trying to defend our group's small patch of land from people who had to make sure every inch was occupied.

Pop Warner Overview:
Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 42 states and several countries around the world. Consisting of approximately 400,000 young people ranging from ages 5 to 16 years old, PWLS is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the United States.
Pop Warner also holds their annual championship events at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex for their top Football and Cheerleader squads. Most of these events are scheduled for the first or second week of December and cause a massive influx of groups to the Disney property during a time of the year that used to be crowd free.

David Cook: (I hope you are kidding... but just in case:)

(born December 20, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter.[1] On May 21, 2008, he won the seventh season of the reality television show American Idol.

Thanks for the info.

I've never watched American Idol, not my cup of tea so to speak.

It's Offical, POP Warner time has Started.

Just saw this in the Boston Herald. Sad part is there was a huge article a week or 2 back about how hard these poor boys worked and needed donations to help them afford the trip down. Amazing you would travel 1300 miles on donations to fight a team thats only an hour away.

The down-on-their-luck Dorchester Eagles Pop Warner team - who pleaded with the public for donations to allow them to go to Florida for a championship game - were kicked out of their Sunshine State hotel after they got in a tussle with another midget team.
The Dorchester Eagles, aged 11 to 15, and the Edgewood Eagles of Rhode Island were kicked out of their Disney hotel on Thursday after the two teams got into a physical fight in the hotel cafeteria, said Pop Warner spokesman Jason Howarth.

That is PERFECT! Any chance Disney will think twice before scheduling this again next year? Two consecutive years with physical altercations by teams, not including any small incidents that aren't reported anywhere. Not that ALL the kids act that way, but there seemed to be a lot of youngsters (football players and cheerleaders alike) running around with minimal supervision. And why are there so many teams? There seem to be more games and teams than the Division 1-AA college playoffs.
That DVC membership sounds more and more like the right investment.

Judging by the drunken state of the Chaperones whem I was there I can see that they were really helpful insuring that this type of incident wouldnt happen. Good Job Chaperones????? 2 years in a row, Hey Disney Wake up! I'm sure Disney is not going to do a thing as its guaranteed money in tough economic times they will have to give up. :brick::brick::brick:

Disney will book POP WARNER year after year, it is a money maker during a slow time of the year. Disney could careless about the hassle, annoyance, property damage the "POP" kids cause.

Just wanted to commit on Pop Warner. This event brings a profit of $ 7 million dollars to Disney. Yes there are problems, but there are with every event some just don't get noticed.

My daughter is a POP cheerleader-local here in Florida. Her first year. In fact 1 time for the community. They attended nationals at Wide World of Sports.

This year Disney put all football teams at All Star Sport, and all cheer leading Teams at All Star Music.

Yes, there are problems with PARENTS drinking, there is almost any night at any resort or park. That is why Disney has Orange County Sheriff Deputy's on property. My oldest son went to House of Blues with some friends, guess what folks they are a run in with a drunk who tried to put his hand up a ladies skirt. The gentleman was asked to stop, when he did not my son, who played football and some of his buddies got around the girl to protect her and he was tossed out and arrested by OCSD.

Right after that my son left and found a another drunk pasted out in the sink in the mens room. He went and got the same OCSD officers and they had to call Disney Security, and Reedy Creek EMS.

Disney tries to make changes evry year so they don't have problems.

Thanks for letting me toss my .2 in.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Just got back to our room, had to leave Rose N crown, embarassed to be an american, about 20 I would say 25 to 30 year olds drinking around the world decesended on Rose N crown, shouting for Irish car Bombs,

Why does that never happen when Im around, I do so enjoy re educating plastic paddies. :drevil:

I doubt that. Not only is it a pr problem, but these types of incidents can lead to legal liability. At a certain point, Disney may determine that the cons outweigh the pros.

A previous poster said that "POP" adds 7 million to Disney's bottom line. Thats cash that Disney needs to keep the shareholders happy.

All it will take is a MAJOR incident to cause WDW to rethink the event. A local waterpark here used to do a annual radio promotion night at their park. Every year the problems with the crowd got worse and worse. The final straw was a stabbing and riot. They no longer do this event.

I know some of the officers who would work that event all the years before the stabbing and riot. They always said "it was not if a major problem would happen but when". The parks answer each year was put more police and security in the park. That did not help.

I hope nothing like this happens at "POP" but it seems the events of the past two years is pushing it to happen.
