Queueing

Now, I did hop out of line when were were at Dumbo to run and get Fast Passes for Winnie The Pooh but then I felt bad about jumping back in with the family so I didn't do it again. We had been in line for 10 minutes without much movement so I figured it wouldn't hurt to hop out and hop back in. No one said anything but I felt bad enough anyway. Ok, flame me if you must....

i don't see why somebody should be able to hold your place in line while you go off and make the most of other Disney attractions/offers while everybody else waits patiently.

also this is not usually 1 person, it is generally a big family of about 8 and 4 go off to get as many fastpasses as they can (or food?) and then just push their way back through.

if you want a FP for something, don't queue for something else.

the whole point of the FP system is so you get your ticket and then figure out how much time you have to THEN go and queue for something else.

As i say i don't remember it happening so much in WDW, but it happens alllllll the time at DLC.

You seem to be unsure of what you don't like when it comes to standing (and leaving) a line.

In your opening post you said - "it seems it has become common practice to send 1 of your party off to queue while the others do something else" implying that one person queues and then is joined by the rest of the party.
Now you're criticising one person (LetsGoAgain) who was already in the queue, left it and returned by themselves. This way those behind are not disadvantaged by hords of people pushing past.

I read that you're totally against anyone (for whatever reason) leaving a line and rejoining

People (especially with young children) do have a genuine reason to leave a line and it is unfair to penalise them due to young bladders. Other people do seem to take a liberty and then push past, returning with half the parks guest list

i did not say i am penalising people who take young children off to the restrooms.

i started by saying i do not like people sending people off to queue and then letting people join them.

i then made a comment against somebody who said that left their party in the queue for a ride while they went off to get a FP.

if there is a very good reason ie restroom then fine, i agree by all means go ahead. But to go out to get FP/food? food can be got in 20 mins time when you are back out of the ride. there is no need to run off now in the line.

if people can not be bothered to queue start to finsih then don't bother.
i can not do with people constandly pushing past me like they own the place. and without a sign on there head saying i have only been to the restroom, i have no idea if they have a good reason or they are just lazy people.

maybe i should have mentioned it to a CM when i was there, but as i say i felt like the embaressed party!

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED THIS!!!

On my trip to Disneyland it was terrible, I have been to Disney World many times but have never had a problem like this. We would have people just jump in line anywhere, and then there would be 1 person holding a place for a group of like 10 who would jump in. And then the FP CM's would literally fall for anything. In splash Mountain alone we had many problems. One group came up to the CM after we had been waiting forever and told the CM this,"Our group has to go home and we wanted to ride Splash Mountain one more time" The cast member just let them go through without ANY fastpass!!! Then we had another where there was a group of like 6 people and they told the cast member that they only had one fastpass for the whole group so they let them through. And this probably added quite a bit to our already long wait. Considering that these are only what I saw so I am sure they were doing it earlier.

And then I don't know how many times we had people just push right by us in the queue, finally I said something and they looked at me like how dare I call them out for cutting.

People just don't get it, I don't know if it is the coast or what.

So, what are they saying?
  • "Nobody knows what we are saying."
  • "Let's wait until Jose is almost to the front of the line, then we'll all cut through the line."
  • "If somebody says something to you that you don't like, pretend you don't understand English."
  • "Let's all chant cuss words in Portuguese."

We did have this happen once at dl in december. It was actually kind of a funny story. We headed to nemo right away one morning. But once we got there there was already a line out past the ropes. So we stepped into line. There was a huge line in front of us and behind us.

This family of 3 just steps in front of us and starts waiting in line. We were like, ummm, the end of the line is back there. They pretended like they had been there all along. We were kind of angry at first, but I mean it's 3 people, what could we do? So we just kind of made jokes about it.

The funny part is when a family of 4 or so starts trying to push past us after we had been waiting for about 20 minutes or so. These people who rudely budded in front of us, turned around to me and said, I bet the people at the front of the line aren't going to be happy about this. I had a big laugh thinking yea, we didn't like it when you stepped in front of us either, but what could we do? :ROFLOL:
