Questions about Spice Road Table

A few questions that I haven't had much luck Googling:

Does Spice Road pipe in the music for Illuminations?

Can you request seats with a view of the lagoon ahead of time?

Have you eaten there and did you like it?

Can you get cocktails from their bar to go?

I ate there when it first opened and my experience was so bad that I have not returned.

Food was small portions and very expensive. Dishes were dirty when we at down and we couldn't get new ones. Servers NEVER came around to check on us and flagging someone down was a nightmare.

I've eaten there twice - once inside and once outside. Both times the food was excellent, as was the service. It's just as advertised - tapas size selections. You get a couple for each person, and you make a great meal out of it. Here's a couple of pics -

The time I ate outside I was a little grumpy, as it was hot and humid but they had a private event inside. The meal was still good, but I didn't enjoy it as much in my sweaty cranky state!

We've eaten at Spice Road a number of times and LOVE IT. It is a GREAT spot to view Illuminations, sitting insider or outside. They will not take seat requests for Illuminations early though so you need to time things right, although we've never had an issues. Honestly it's never too crowded, I think, it may be too "adventurous" for some diners.

Yes you can get cocktails to go from the bar.

I would HIGHLY recommend Spice Road to anyone.

My wife and I are looking forward to trying SRT in May. I know the menu has changed quite a bit since it first opened. Based on the menu on the WDW site, is sharing 3-4 small plates and the mixed skewers entrée (and a pitcher of sangria) a reasonable dinner for 2. Too much? Not enough?

Sorry OP, I don't mean to hi-jack. :angelic:

Had Teppan Edo in my schedule for next week but realized due to timing and needing an earlier ADR, I switched to Spice Road Table. Haven't been to either but decided the small plates, and seating on the deck were the overriding factors for me.

Well, I made a fine lunch out of just 2 of the small plates. So I'd say that 3 or 4 AND an entrée might be a bit much.

Thanks for the feed back (no pun intended). Maybe we'll play it safe and start with a few small plates and see where the night takes us.
