I was just wondering how the crowds are at the parks around August 5-10. Are there still alot of tourist groups? Are the crowds as large as they are in July? What should I expect? Thanks!

No
Still fairly crowded because the schools haven't started yet. Two weeks later it calms down a lot.

We did a three week trip in August 06 - arriving August 2nd. Our previous Easter trips being the benchmark for crowds levels, we found the first week really quiet, the second week was very similar to Easter crowds and the third week a mix of the two.

We are also going the first week in August. We have done it before and the crowds are pretty high. Expect 60-90 minute waits for very popular rides.

We went the first week in August last year and we did not see any tour groups. We had sort of strange experiences with crowds. There were a lot of people there, however we did not wait long to get on many rides, like 15 minutes for HM and 10 minutes for PotC. And we used Fast Pass when we needed which also worked out great. We also had no problem finding tables for counter service restaurants. We did avoid which ever park had EMH for that day. So while walking around, the parks really looked jammed packed, however it seemed that no one was riding anything or eating and just walking around aimlessly I guess. We just found that sort of strange. Have a great trip. Oh, and I also want to add that I was never so hot in my entire life than during that trip and we had a lot of rain.

i wouldn't overgeneralize and say that the crowds are absolutely crazy or that you'll wait 60-90 minutes for everything. it depends how you do the parks. if you're someone who doesn't mind waking up and doing the bulk of your day at the park before lunch, you'll find it much more fulfilling (both in crowd density and heat intensity).
