I was thinking about reserving a cabana on Castaway Cay. I heard that there is only 21 cabanas (not sure if true) and I heard that they sell out pretty quickly. Is this true? Thanks. :)

They do go very quickly! If you're cruising during a slower time of year there may be some left when the 75 day booking window opens up, but if it's a busy time then they are probably gone. If they are, keep checking because people change their minds!

Lol, Chuck!
They are more expensive on the family beach but they will fit more people. But you do pay extra once you go over 6 and you can't have more than 10.
You do get a fridge stocked with cold sodas, fruit, sunscreen, snorkeling gear, and inner tubes! :)

I read that quickly at first and my reaction was "why would you keep your sunscreen in the fridge?" Thats gotta be cold.

Just got home from our 8-night Magic cruise. We had cabana #6 on the family beach side and it was heavenly. Worth every bit of the $499 + tip for concierge. I sooo wish I had my pics ready to show you. It was incredible. I'd do it again and again and again. Also, hubby & I had cabana #19 at Serenity Bay last September. Again, great experience that we felt was worth the $399. Of the 2 locations we thought the family cabanas were a better option just because of the excellent proximity to everything and fabulous views. Even with over a thousand other people on the island we felt like we were in our own little private paradise.

For what it's worth, we booked the cabana on Serenity Bay around 80 or so days prior to sailing. The family cabana we booked right at the 90 day mark when our booking window opened (for silver status). I know there were a few left when booking opened to first timers. I've heard if people snagging them days before sailing and even the night before Castaway Cay via wait list on the ship. Things come up. People change their mind. Sometimes someone is sick so they opt to skip it. Never give up!

There are cabanas numbered 1 - 21 but there's no cabana #13. Its either 1 thru 16 or 17 are on the family beach and the remainder on Serenity Bay. 1 cabana on each beach is held back from the inventory for booking online. These are usually offered up to concierge guests upon boarding the ship. If concierge doesn't take them they are released to the wait list folks. So as soon as you board go straight to Guest Services to get on the list.

My 90 day started at midnight, but I didn't look at anything till this morning. Website wouldn't even pull my reservation at midnight. Anyway, all the cabanas for out April 26 are sold out at the 90 day mark.

@5thGenTexan, definitely keep checking and get on the wait list. ;)

It would be nice, but I don't think we are going to put the money out for that. We are finalizing plans for a new house and will start building soon. The only reason we are doing this cruise is because of the kids sail free thing, and my daughter will be in kindergarten in the Fall, so this is kinda our last chance to go when we want to. We might even end up heading bac to the ship for naps anyway.
