Questions about Annual Pass

My GF and I are thinking about purchasing Annual Passes for our next WDW-trip because we plan to stay for at least 16 days (with 2 days for Universal) but the maximum length of the MYWT is 10 days only. To purchase a second MYWT would be much more expensive than buying 2 annual passes from the beginning. The difference between 2 10 day MYWT and 2 annual passes for us two is 252 €. Only 126 € for one of us and we have another 4 full days at WDW. That's already quite interesting.
We heard about the discounts for annual passholders that make the purchase of AP even more desirable but couldn't find informations about these bargains.
What discounts on hotels and dining can you expect as an AP-holder?

Resort discounts vary, but generally 20-25% at values, 30% at moderates and 35-40% at deluxe. Depending on the season. Certain times there are no discounts at all.

Dining discounts with the AP aren't great, 10 or 15% here and there, mostly at lunch. But with an AP you're eligible to buy the Tables in Wonderland card, which gets you 20% off at almost all Table Service and a few Quick Service where there aren't any TS. The 20% includes appetizers, entrees and desserts as well as alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverages! :slurp:

There are shopping discounts as well.

Handful of places give a small discount on dining but not very much or very many places. Passholders can also get the Tables in Wonderland card cheaper. Merchandise is basically 10% off everything in Disney-owned shops for AP's (20% off for Premium.) Hotel discounts vary in availability, resort and timeframe. Tours are typically 15% off.

Here's the official breakdown from Disney:

To add days to MYW ticket only costs like $4 day. I am unsure of the exact price but it's not more. If u can squeeze in 2 trips before your passes expire, the pass will pay for itself. In 2008 we bought annual passes and went in 2009 a month before our passes expired.

I hope this helps.

The OP is going for 16 days. MYW tickets can't be added to past their maximum length of 10 days.

Hmmm... That's weird because on our honeymoon my hubby and I added days. Not just on our hotel, they honored the rate we paid at the time of booking, but were more then happy to add more park days. We had the park hopper but no water parks and they charged us $3 a day to add. But we added before we used all the days on the ticket.

I know a second time we drove to WDW and added more days. I thought then it was $4 more a ticket. Still a great deal. We love WDW as much as everyone else, and when we get down there we get the bug to try to stay as long as possible.

I know they only sell so many days but both times we didnt buy the no expiration and we added more days very cheaply.

I hope this helps. I know we did it and didn't purchase all new tickets.

You can add days, but only to a total of 10 days, which have to be used within 14 days of the first use of the ticket unless you also buy the no-expire option. The add-on can be done at any time within that 14-day window whether you've used any or all of the ticket.

After the third day, add-on days now cost $11 for the fourth day and $8/day thereafter up to the maximum ten.

The first day is $85, second adds $83 [total $168] and third adds $64 [total $232].

Adding Hopper is a flat-rate of $35/ticket for a 1-day and to add PH to a ticket of 2 days or more is $55
