Questioned for Park Hopping?

Since DL, DCA, and DD are so close to each other it seems to me this kind of activity would be common. I believe the system is flagging this, causing the CM to ask questions and they are not doing it on their own, and I guess it depends on the CM working at the moment, now worth the trouble for most.
If you read the various replies in this thread it is pretty much answered.

Had another new one today…. Scanned my pass at the enteance and was told I needed to present an ID and have a new photo taken. Haven’t been in a couple months and this was my first scan. Maybe it got flagged cause I’ve made and cancelled several reservations lately?

The CM was super nice about it and said it was most likely the cameras didn’t recognize my face (I guess they use facial recognition too).

Still an odd way to start the day.
Had this happen several months into my having my key. The app went glitchy for a second and when I finally got it to open, the CM scanned it and said I needed a photo added to the account. I pointed out that I'd had my photo taken months before and had visited multiple times since and suggested it was an app issue. He said I had to have a new pic taken before I could go in, so I had to take it again. I was kind of bummed since I purposefully wore something the first day I used the pass so it would be my pic, and instead got stuck with a random look months later. Boo.

This happened to the guest in front of me last night when hopping from fireworks to DCA - a lead had to be called for her, since she “park hopper so quickly” - between the photos on the screen and the face recognition cameras I really don’t understand why this is an issue that needs to be flagged. Makes no sense.

It's to prevent ticket fraud. There are no facial recognition cameras at the front gate, the CM scanning the ticket, is also the one verifying the user of the ticket is the same person that pops up on their screen. Having a ticket/pass get locked to a park for 30 mins helps prevent people from sharing tickets.

This policy has been in place since 2017. The only reason you are now seeing it happen more often is because of the reservation system and people thinking they have to go to their reserved park first before they can park hop.

Yeah, one day I had accidentally picked park #1 to start when I meant to reserve park #2. I showed up around 10:50am at park #2 to make my first entrance for the day and got the horn sound of shame and was chastised by the CM for trying to get in early. I checked my reservation and yeah, I picked the wrong park to start with. So I, along with a few dozen other people, stood for 10 minutes approximately 20 feet outside the gate (the CM's told us we had to stand away from the turnstiles although nobody was in line at them - just a bunch of us waiting around until we were allowed to get in). The magic moment of 11 struck and I went directly into the park I'd meant to reserve first but hadn't.

I was glad it was only 10 minutes but I did feel like a second class citizen waiting until I had permission to go in.

Funny how they can afford the money to make the IT for the reservations work huh? ;)
If only they could afford to keep the entrance system working at the park (OR HAD A BACKUP PLAN!). They just had another day where the system wouldn't recognize Magic Keyholders, so only people with day tickets were getting into the park until they apparently figured out they could manually input the reservation numbers (if the Keyholders had them). :banghead:

Here's a way to park hop without delay: hop over the turnstile. In the olde days I I would've had trouble believing that they got so far. Not so much anymore. (Don't know why it's illustrated with a Mando pic.)

"A woman was arrested at Disneyland after allegedly sneaking into the park and attempting to evade police by hiding by an attraction on June 17.

Police officers with the Anaheim Police Department assisted the resort’s security team in apprehending the woman who allegedly entered the park without paying.

A spokesperson with the Anaheim Police Department told KTLA that the unidentified woman entered the park by jumping over the turnstiles at the park’s entrance.

At about 7 p.m. that day, the woman was arrested on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Trail, a walk-thru area by the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction in Frontierland at Disneyland Park. The woman was arrested for a misdemeanor without incident, according to the spokesperson."...
