Question of Tequila Bar

My wife and I are going to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival in October and would like to try a tequila at the new tequila bar in the Mexico Pavilion however we do not want to spend an hour learning the history of same. Is it possible to simply walk in and have a tequila or is it only for the tequila event only?

Well, unless there's some kind of tequila themed private seminar going on at the bar during the F&W festival, I think you'll be okay to roll in and have at it.

Hubby and I were just there and you can just walk in and have whatever you want! The waitress was telling us about the special events during F&W and they were only during certain hours. I believe the seminars were between 12 and 2.

Our waitress Nancy was awesome and she gives a bit of info about the particular tequila you are trying. We didn't need a seminar!

That is now one of our favorite places to go!

If I may offer a top tip:

If you are doing a pro longed tasting make sure that your table hasnt been "adjusted" by CMs fitting more people in, otherwise you may find that the lovely ornate lights are no longer directly over your table but in your direct path as you stand up at a lovely head height.

And trust me they are heavy, and although it may be amusing for those whos head it doesnt twat.

I have major issues normally with the tang of margaritas and this annoying ulcer. HOWEVER- theirs are so smooth and use ZERO sour mixes, only fresh lime. They did not make me sick at all! In fact, the classic margarita is my fave. YUMMY!!!!:sohappy:

Yeah, I too cannot abide "Bar Mix". It will tear my stomach up.

This may be kind of a dumb question since we haven't been since it opened, but are kids allowed?

Maybe me and my hubby can sneak away without the kids, leaving them with our 16 year old.

There were kids when I was there last year. It depends on your kids of course, but it is a really small place, and I'm sure if your kids are sitting at a table it will be fine. Not a lot of space to run around. They can ride the boat ride while you drink.

There was a couple sitting across from us with a two year old. Needless to say he was really enjoying the guacamole ad salsa and chips!

One evening this past April, my wife and I grabbed some of the quesadillas from the stand outside the Mexican Pavillion just before a downpour and took them and our kids inside the pavillion, sat on a bench inside and had a number of margaritas from the bar. We're not usually big frozen margarita drinkers but do enjoy the ones around WS, but I wasn't about to go out in the rain to get those, so we tried the tequilla bar and the frozen margaritas were outstanding! We can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks and try the regular ones!

It's a fun place but VERY crowded during Food & Wine. We waited 15 minutes to get in the door but had a great time once we were in. Of course that was on a Saturday evening so it may be lighter during the week.
