OK, my wife and I are helping some friends plan their next trip to the World and there's one thing we are unsure of. ANYTHING to do with the 1 to 2 year old prices etc.

Is there an admission fee?
Do they count in the room count?
Extra fee for the crib?
ETC.

Anything you can tell us to help out our friends will be awesome?

Under 3:

- no theme park admission - and they don't check birth certificates
- no fee for the crib - there should be a Pack N Play type crib in each room, if not, just call Housekeeping
- They DO count towards room occupancy - most Disney rooms accommodate 4 persons plus 1 child under 3 in a crib
- if they purchase the MYW Dining Plan, it is assumed the under-3's eat from their parents plates, they don't pay and don't get their own dining credits

I second all info above :). When I called to make my ADR's for our December trip, DD (currently 2 and 2 months) was free for all dining (as long as she eats off our plates. No tickets required for the park either.

I've been taking my three children since they were infants...and there is plenty to do with a child under 2. The most important thing is to bring a stroller from home as they only rent strollers IN the theme parks and with the distance you travel between buses and hotel rooms, restaurants, the pool and places like Downtown Disney--you will most definitely want a stroller that stays with you at all times.

It doesn't hurt to bring a baby sling either--for use in lines when you can't have your stroller with you...it can get tiresome holding a child for long periods of time and having a sling sure makes a big difference--I used mine up until my kids were 3 or 4... I had an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder.

Let's see... the hotel pools all loan out those foam flotation vests which are great for toddlers... last time I was there you could check one out for your length of stay and just return it when you check out of your room... that way you have it for times when the life guards are not on duty--or for use at Quiet Pools.

Typhoon Lagoon is great for kiddies--they have Ketcha Kiddie Kreek which is a toddler play area--and if you get there when the park opens there is some great seating under a thathched roof int he very back corner of the kiddie area--so there is plenty of shade for little ones... and a place to get out of the rain if there is a sudden downpour.

MK has plenty of toddler appropriate rides--my little ones were always fine on Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Aldaddin's Flying Carpets, etc. etc. Anything that doesn't have a height restriction is fair game for toddlers. Little ones love the WDW Railroad, Monorail, Tune Town---if he's a tall 2 year old he might even get on Goofy's Barnstormer (my kids did) which is a childsized rollercoaster similar in feel to BTMRR but shorter in length/duration and less themed.

Toon Town has tons of pint sized attractions... and meet and greets for Mickey and numberous other characters at County Bounty....

Thanks to all for your quick responses!

Mt wife and I are the local Disney freaks and could plan anyones trip without much thought, we just don't know anything about the below 3 yo info. Turns out the baby will be just over 7 months when they travel (I misinterpreted their e-mail). But I'm guessing all the info holds true.

Thanks again!!!

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
All under 3-yo are "Guests of Mickey" and enter the parks, eat and stay for free. The only exception is if you order a meal specifically for them, if they share off their parents' plate or even have a plate of their own at a buffet, no charge.

Another thing to do is scan the forum under trip planning - at the top of the screen - WDW with kids. There are excellent questions that are asked there, and tons of feedback. From nap time to strollers, to rides they can ride to airplane rides.

I have a 3 DD and I refer to that particular set of threads for my own information - maybe something I haven't thought of myself; as well as post my own replies to other's questions on something I may have already done. Having been there 18 times, 4 with an infant/toddler, you think you know everything, but you don't!

Also make sure that when they make their dining plans that they include the infant so that they have a table large enough for the whole family. Disney needs to know that they have an infant in the party in case they need a high chair.
