Question(Cinderalles castle)

I was wondering if any of of yall know what that long wire from
the highest point on cinderalles castle is.It goes from the top all
the way to a building closest to the entrance to tommorowland,
and is most visible,on your way out of tommorowland headed
for like adventureland. Ive first spotted it about 3 to 5 years ago
and have wondered what its for ever since.If any of you guys
know please post a reply.

Its the wire that Tinkerbell flys across during the Magic Kingdom fireworks display. Yes, an actual person dressed as Tinkerbell slides along that line....its a neat thing to see!

Yes, during the beginning of the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks show, Tinkerbell flies down that line to start the fireworks.

That is exactly what I thought it was for,I just got back and
didnt get to see the fireworks on mainstreet like i planned,but does any one have video fottege of it,and another question,is it
true that they are planning to do away with Fantasy in the sky
cause I really wanted to see it on mainstreet,and my next visit
could be december if not then July of 04 and I was hoping to video
tape

I hope they aren't doing away with it! That fireworks display is the best and holds some great memories from my childhood trips to The World!

as a former CM for the MK... i can OFFICIALLY TELL YOU that both of you are wrong. The wire is acutally a cable connection. Prince Charming lives up there with Cindy, and likes to watch ESPN, so they had cable installled. EVERYONE knows that Tinkerbell is a pixie with REAL pixie dust! That is how she flies, she has NO NEED for wires or such...

also, we are losing Fantasy in the Sky, but a new fireworks display is scheduled for around October, (i believe) (there are other posts on this forum about it...) I am sure that ole' Tink will make an appearance ever so often at this new show, she loves to help light up the sky... but you never know with her, shes flighty...

p.s. - sometimes Cindy uses that cable connection to hang her dirty clothes on... you might see her bloomers haning up there one day.

Hey MK thanks for reminding us that these boards are open for all to see and that we should do our own little bit to preserve the Magic!!! As far as a video of FITS fireworks, Ye sI do have one which is actually pretty goodd thanks to my dear Brother inlaw, however as I cant just stop and bring it with me, if you become a premium member of this board there is a pretty good video in the main page area under the Magic Kingdom!!! i wish i could be there belle! i would love to meet you and the rest of the wdwmagic gang that will be there, but i am in the Lone Star State (TX) and will not be a CM again until Jan 04... but maybe then... lol. hope you have a GREAT TIME! don't get sick... lol.

My only problem with the guide wire for Tink is the bird factor. Many times I've seen black crows sitting on the wire, spoiling the views of the castle. Maybe a little jolt of electricity running through it would keep the birds away.

By the way, at Disneyland, the wire runs from the top of the Matterhorn to a tower behind BTMR. This way Tink actually gets to fly over the entire castle, instead of just leaving from it. A much cooler effect.
