Does anyone remember the light parade that use to take place on the giant lake outside of the magic kingdom. It had a dragon and some Little MErmaid characters and it would go accross the lake and through some of the resorts every night. Is this parade still around?? any of the cst members know? Also did anone ever see Light Magic? How was it?

It is called the Electric Water Pageant (I believe it is still there...well, it was as of February).

I'm not sure what "Light Magic" is...sorry.

The floating parade is still there. I hope it always will be. It docks over at the magic kingdom Storage area. You can see the canal from the monorail.

Thanks for clearing that up...so it wasn't as good I'm taking it :)

Do you personally like SpectroMagic as much or better than the WDW MSEP? I myself like it better.

Electrical Water Pageant

Intended as a special goodnight present to all who visited the WDW's Magic Kingdom in 1971, The Electrical Water Pageant was conceived by Bob Jani, who later created the Main Street Electrical Parade for Disneyland and then copied a bit later for Walt Disney World.
The pageant still runs nightly, around 9 p.m. between the Monorail resorts and the Magic Kingdom. It's still a magical show, although many people still are unaware of its' existence.

Electrical water pageant is still operational.

"ELECTRICAL WATER PAGEANT
Polynesian Resort -- 9:00pm
Grand Floridian -- 9:15pm
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35pm
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45pm
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05pm
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20pm (only during extended MK park hours)

Description: Originally presented for the dedication of the Polynesian Luau on October 26, 1971, the Electrical Water Pageant is presented nightly at our Magic Kingdom Area Resorts. The pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot-tall screen of lights featuring King Neptune and creatures from under the sea in an aquatic parade set to Disney music. Flags and Stars! The pageant concludes with an inspirational salute to America, with Flags and Stars set to a patriotic musical score."

Light Magic wasn't necessarily 'bad'...it just wasn't a good replacement for the Main Street Electrical Parade. There is rumor of it replacing Tapestry of Dreams next year.
