I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 2 Park Power Pass to Universal Orlando is paper or like the Disney Resort room key (creidt card form)?

your "paper thingy" is either a voucher for the pass, or the ticket to get you into the park for one day. Once you are in the park, you'll go to the annual processing center, cocated to the left as soon as you enter the park, either park.
I find the passes at Universal to be much moore professional then Disney, and with your picture on it like the credit card types, there are much fewer issues with lost or damamged passes.

Sorry, I stand corrected, and you are absolutley right, I was only thinking about IOA when I wrote that, bad me!
At Disney offices are consistently located on the same side to avoid such confusion.

I agree. I bought my AP for Universal last year on the buy one year, get one year free deal and was impressed at the pass itself. All for $180! Then, I got the FL resident's pass to Disney for $300 and got a piece of paper that always needs to be bent back into shape or it won't go into the machine at the gate. DOH! :hammer:

I dont understand why Disney doesnt go to using plastic tickets for AP, it is much better. I remember the ones that Sea World used to have, the were cool, you got to pick the picture of a certain animal to put on the front, I dont think they do those anymore though

I think Universal Orlando takes care of its Annual Pass Holders better than Disney does. I was talking to a guest yesterday at IoA and he told me that they had Disney passes but refused to renew them because they were so expensive and you didn't get as many discounts and deals as you did at UO. I had to agree cause I used to have an AP for Disney and by the time ours expired we had lost many of our discounts, but we did get those super cool AP lounges, lol.

I heard Disney used to have hard plastic APs with your photo on them but stopped using them for some reason. I wish they'd start again. When I had one I kept it in a small Ziploc baggie to keep it dry and save. Now Disney makes these kinda cool plastic pouch things to store Fastpasses in (at least that's what it says), but you can fir yout park tickets int here too. It's also on a retractable cord and a Mickey shaped clip that can attach to your belt. I got one last year. They sell them at the Emporium on Main Street for $6 I think.

I probably won't renew my Disney pass this year since it's $300 to renew and since they don't have E-Z Pay, or something like it, it's hard to plop down a large amount like that at one time. I know some people think that you should save up over the months to pay it but, they probably don't live here and rent, utilities, insurance, etc. is more important than a Disney pass. I don't understand why Disney won't allow you to pay like Sea World and Universal do...over time. If I knew I had to pay the "bill" every month, I would not have any issues with renewing. BTW..if anyone has a spare $300 just waiting to be spent, send it my way and I'll renew my pass. :lol: :lol: :lol:

It's a shame how bad Disney does their annual passes, it's also true you really get none if any discounts.
Universal does a much better job with annual passes, but it's funny because at Disneyland (California) thier annual passes are pictures, and professional.
Disney could learn a lot from studying Universal policies, while I won't debate who has a better park, it's an obvious fact that Universal has better policies.
Perhaps Bob Igor will fix some of Disney's many problems but sigh, that's an entire different thread I suppose!

we dropped to seasonal passes because we founf we weren't going near WDW during the peak times. it's still $600.00 for my family 3 per year, and 8 bucks to park each time. with the buy a year get a year with UO, it's less than half that, plus parking and great discounts. not to mention the refillable mugs. we love WDW, but UO's the best deal in the state. then they throw in cool little perks, like reserved seating at the fear factor tapings. nice touches, and the TM's are every bit as nice as WDW's CM's. WDW treats FL residents like dirt, be we still go, they know we will.
