Question about Saratoga Springs

If you pay for a preferred villa at Saratoga, are you close to the restaurants and lobby? Trying to figure out if it would be worth it. Not really wanting to take a shuttle (bus) to our room from the lobby.

Also, is it closer to the boat transportation for Disney Springs?

There are two docks for boats to Disney Springs but our preferred room in March wasn’t close to either one or the main building. The one dock is on the walkway over to Disney Springs that will cut down a few steps. The resort is really spread out. Hopefully someone here can suggest a building for you to request when checking in.

The preferred villas are either at The Springs, which is at the main lobby and restaurants etc, or at Congress Park, which is the nearest section to DS, and walkable.

The boat dock is near The Springs, or there's one up at the Treehouses.

Here's a link to the map of SSR. The map should come up when you click the link, but there's a link from the main page anyway. I'll post the link to the DVC resort page too.

The preferred villas are $800+ more for 5 nights so I think we will just stay with the standard. Not sure it would be worth the $$$

I did check about renting DVC points and there is no villas available the week we want to go. I do have a pending reservation but I check each day for other villas that might open up. Ideally, we would love to be closer to the parks but everything else is so expensive. Looking for the fall sales to open up for the resorts.

Have you looked at the disney springs hotels website? They're not "Disney hotels," and they don't get you access to/from airport using Magical Express or package delivery. BUT they are on site not much farther away from the parks than Saratoga itself, they have extra magic hours, some of them have views of Disney Springs or are high up enough that you can get fireworks views, and even when they don't have discounts, they're significantly cheaper than WDW resorts WITH discounts. I don't know your dates, but someone in another thread was asking about 1BR "Villas" so kids can sleep in one room and parents could be on a balcony or a different room. The Doubletree suites had 1BR units with king sized beds (and sofa bed in main living area), kitchenette, and private balcony for about $200 a night in September, tax included and free self-parking. I just don't know how convenient that would be for you, if you have a car to drive to parks (which mean extra $$$) or if you'd use their shuttles (which don't run as frequently) OR if you'd opt to cab/uber it (in which case, again, $$$).

SSR is our home resort and we always enjoy staying there. I would suggest if you want to save some money book a standard room and request the Grandstands and request a room next to the pool,it’s a 2or3 minute walk to the main lobby and food and also the boat dock to the Springs, also you would be at the Grandstand bus stop we’re your the first on the bus going to the parks and on the return trip your the first off the bus,the pool there is usually pretty quite and it does have a snack bar. Enjoy

Thanks for posting this. We have put in a request for the Grandstand and close to the pool, so hopefully we will get that location. I know this resort is "BIG".

Thanks again for the recommendation and always good to hear from someone who stays there.
