Question about resort groups

Could anyone tell me what resort group AoA is a part of? I'm working with a family that has never been to Disney World and they are driving. I don't know if it will be important for them to know this, but I know several years ago driving in, we had to follow signs for the EPCOT Resorts before we saw signs for Caribbean Beach Resort. I've seen information saying they are a part of the Animal Kingdom Resorts but also part of Hollywood Studio Resorts - which I didn't think was a group. Thanks for the help!

It is pretty close to Wide World of Sports, but also Hollywood Studios. Not sure why they aren't classifying it as a HS area hotel. But road signs at Disney aren't hard to follow - I would just give them the address, plug it in the GPS, and trust the signs from there.

Telling them to follow signs for Wide World of Sports is probably your best bet. No matter where they're entering property from, that'll put them onto Osceola Parkway or Victory Way. If they're on Osceola, they'll just turn onto Victory Way at the Osceola/Victory intersection. If they're on Victory (like if they'd come on-property via Epcot Center Drive or Hotel Plaza Blvd) they'll drive past AoA before they get to WWoS.

Actually it was Hollywood Studios that I read, not Wide World of Sports(I went back and edited my post). And yes, I realize we are all using gps and I will be giving this family the address, but I'm related to a few people who have trouble using their gps:) and of course sometimes they don't always work right, so I like to make sure everyone is well prepared.

According to the Unofficial Guide, Art of Animation is considered an Animal Kingdom Resort, as are Pop Century, Coronado Springs and of course AKL. But I'd say that's a stretch of how resorts are defined based on location. But if Google Earth is to be believed, then if they enter property on the Osceola Parkway heading West, then once they go through that main Walt DIsney World entrance - or as my family calls it, the "holy crap we're really here!" entrance - then make the first right and the first right after that should put you on Animation Way. If anyone can confirm or refute what I think I'm seeing, feel free I won't be offended.

EDIT: I think my directions are crap; see my next post.

The "Unofficial Guide" has always been the source I have relied on when checking on and updating this kind of information, but I saw on an email from Chip & Co where they were listing addresses and phone numbers for each resort and they were the ones that listed AoA and Pop under Hollywood Studio Resorts. It may have just been the way they broke it down and not official resort category.

Basically what I'm thinking, too. I'm trying to follow Google Earth - I think my first attempt wasn't the best, but again, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, I won't be offended - but it seems like BEFORE the main entrance, there's a split in the road where you bear straight for Mk and Epcot and lean right for Hollywood Studios, Wide World of Sports and Animal Kingdom. They should lean right, so they will be to the right of "the main part of the main entrance" if that makes sense; they won't go under the entrance but to the side, but there will be some WDW welcome signage to their right as well. Make the first right on the Osceola Pkwy, then a left at the stop light for "Victory Way." After that, the entrance should be on their right.

Sounds like they based it on the DME route.
