This may have been discussed already, if so I apologize. A lot of pople have called Giselle the newest Disney Princess, however in the film she does not marry the prince and she is not from a royal family. Is she therefore a Disney Princess?

Merry Christmas! :xmas:

Good question. I have not seen the movie, but I swear I know I heard Regal Reagis refer to her as the newest Disney princess.....

Yea I heard this too. I havn't seen the movie yet but it does seem like she will be named a princess sooner or later, based on how popular the movie has been. Who knows? :lookaroun

I think they read of scripts so its possible that she is considered a new princess.

Anyone else catch that in the "five questions" segment about the villians, Reagis called the wicked queen from Snow White, the "Snow Queen"? Thats not bad enough, but his co host said he got all questions correct.

Wicked Queen is my favorite... I nearly had a meltdown on that one!

Yup. My wife and I heard it and kinda looked at each other as if to confirm we had heard him correctly. As far as Im concerned, thats enough to keep him from ever hosting again, and the person who was responsible for editing the film should be admonished as well..:ROFLOL:

Next time you see her, ask her to sign an autograph. If you get her to, the name she signs will be "Snow Queen." If she is dressed as the hag, the autograph will be "Snow White's Wicked Witch." Therefore, Regis was right, Disney does refer to her as Snow Queen

It's either "Snow Queen".... "Snow White's Stepmother, The Queen"... or "Snow White's Wicked Witch"... I have all three autographs

aside from the fact that she "looks" like a princess and is supposed to marry a prince, the Giselle merchandise is marketed as part of the Disney Princess collection. guess that makes her "official".

well guys if you think about it, there is another veryyy popular disney "princess" that isn't really one either, because she hasn't been married ...yet.

Can you guess....?

According to wikipedia, which I know can't always be trusted, Giselle is not one of the "Official" Disney Princesses because I guess if she were they would have to pay Amy Adams for the use of her likeness. But I don't see what the difference is, if they are selling stuff with her picture on it, whether she is an official princess or not, wouldn't they still have to pay her? Anyone know?

Only as long as they were selling the Enchanted merchandise. Notice how when a new film comes out they produce a bunch of stuff, and then it slowly whittles down until there are very few items left, and then it's completely gome? Yeah... It'll probably go like that.

They're probably still paying Johnny Depp BIG bucks for the Jack Sparrow merchandise... unless if they paid him up front in his initial Pirates contract for that. Amy Adams' contract was probably an overlooked afterthought.

Princess - 1. A woman menber of a royal family other than the monarch, esp. a daughter of a monarch. 2.a. A woman who is ruler of a principality. b. A woman hereditary ruler; a queen/ 3. A noblewoman of varying status or rank. 4. the wife of a prince. 5. A woman regarded as having the status or qualities of a princess.

...so there is no need for marriage, or even official royalty.
I would say she fits the definition

I'm not so sure about that....
While there is no marriage in the original Disney movie....I believe the story does have them married after the transformation.
