I may be imagining things but i sort of remeber being in EPCOT back when it first opened and there being almost nothing. IT seems like GErmany was one of the only countries serving food and no real rides were open. i know that it had it offical opening with more then this. Is it possible that they had a preview before the park was open offivcal or am i rewriting history.
thanks

There were cast member previews in September, and during the summer of 1982 residents could take the monorail to the station and stand on the platform looking at SSE before taking an anticlockwise trip (!) on the monorail through Futureworld.

The park opened with the SSE dedication on October 1st 1982 and with the following; SSE, Communicore, Astuter Computer Revue, Universe of Energy, World of Motion (dedicated a few days later), The Imageworks, Magic Journeys, Kitchen Kabaret, Symbiosis, Listen to the Land, Mexico with El Rio Del Tiempo (decicated December 1982), China (with Wonders of China but no restaurant), Germany, Italy, The American Adventure (with partial outside restaurant), France (Impressions de France), the UK and Canada with O`Canada!

Previews were held before the official opening of what was then known as EPCOT Center, but I dont think any of them were for any of the general public. There were previews for WDI and their families and for CMs too.

EPCOT was one of the most completed parks to open. It had many of its attractions up and running.

Ah, Marni beat me to it.
