Question about dividing resort stays.

I can't make up my mind about which resort I want to stay in so I am wondering if it is possible to stay at two different resorts. We are planning a 10 day vacation on site. I understand that the longer you stay the cheaper it is but if I were to divide the stay between two different resorts would I be allowed the same discount? How does this work and what is the best way to do this? I am thinking of the a few different places; Poly, AKL, Pop, and WL
Thanks from the new girl, Lisa

I think the way it would work is that you would pay for the first 7 nights and get the last 3 for free...if you were to stay at the same resort. But if you wanted to break your stay up between two different resorts, and if it was 5 nights each, then I suppose you could stay 4 nights and get the 5th for free. But I may be wrong. But if I am right, that would get you 2 free nights instead of 3, if you stayed all 10 days in the same resort.

That really stinks, I will just stay at one place then so
I could get that extra day. Park time is much more important to me.
Thanks so much for answering, Lisa

For the buy 4 get 3 you would have to stay at the same resort. If you are staying 10 days at the same resort, you would pay for 7 and get 3 free.

If you want to split your stay 5 and 5, you would buy 4 get 1 at each so you would still get 2 nights free.

If you wanted to maximize the buy 4 get 3 and still stay at two resorts, you could stay 7 nights at one - buy 4 get 3- and then pay for 3 nights at a second resort.

Depending on the time frame you're talking about, it's possible that there could be some kind of discount for those last 3 nights on a room only reservation.

As for your resorts, Pop is great if you want to save money. If you don't mind spending more, the deluxe resorts are amazing.

Our favorite is Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Savannah View. The Poly is incredible for it's location. Wilderness Lodge is also a beautiful resort in a great location.

You really can't go wrong with the resorts you mentioned.

If you'd like me to run some numbers for you, I'd be happy to! Just shoot me an email or give me a call!:)

I suppose it is that way so that people do not stay 4 days at Pop and then 3 free at Poly, it would be nice if they allowed you to divide between similiarly priced resorts though.

What I might do for this is, instead of splitting up your vacation by having to change resorts right in the middle of your stay, pick one resort (I know it's going to be difficult to choose!), and then eat lunch/dinner at a nice table service place at the other resorts. That ways, you get to see all the resorts you're trying to decide between, and you don't have to pack up and move all of a sudden after 7 nights in one room. Of course, you may not mind as much, but walking around waiting for my ADRs to come up would be enough of the other resorts for me.

Probably what they would do would be to make the 3 free nights the ones at the cheaper resort...kind of like when a store offers a "buy one get one free" deal and allows you to use it on two different items, but makes the cheaper one the free one. But the point is moot, since Disney currently doesn't offer the option of dividing a stay between two or more resorts. I think it would be nice if Disney would create the option in the computers to book more than one resort under one "stay". Who knows...maybe they will someday.

We're splitting between two resorts during our stay. We're doing the "buy 4 nights get 3 free at the Poly than going to the Boardwalk Villas for 5 nights.

Now I must tell that no one who breathes on this planet looks for a deal like I do so here's how I worked it out. First, the "buy 4 get 3" was a good deal to begin with so I jumped on it. Before this deal came along, we were going to spend our whole time at the Boardwalk Villas by purchasing points from one of the vacation club owners. The problem with that is the "use points" more than double on Friday and Saturday nights. So we're staying at the Poly Sunday - Saturday, then checking into the one bedroom BWV Sunday thru Thursday. When I added everything up, I'm spending about $300.00 a night for our room at the Polynesian and $270.00 a night for our Boardwalk Villa. We got the 10 day pass so I got the best value on park admission and we'll have a couple of "down days" when we check into the resorts.

I looked it up and I think both resorts cost around $520.00 a night rack rate plus tax so I figure I'm paying between 51% - 58% of what the room would usually go for.

I Love the WL and that is my resort of choice. I try not to split resorts unless I really have too. If anything I will spend my first night at a Value and move to the WL after that. But I do want to do WL and Beach Club one of these days on my same trip.

We've done the WL/BC trip a couple times and it has been fantastic. Usually we stay at BC for 4 nights at the beginning and then transfer over to WL for 4 more nights. It's very convenient as we have the bell hop take our luggage and then we will spend part of the morning at EPCOT, hop on the bus to WL and check in.

Another thing to look into is to see if you could get AP rates at the hotels for your stay and see how that pricing would compare to the deal you have now. We're going in May for 6 nights and the price with the 4/3 deal including tickets was only about $80 less than if I purchase an AP and get the AP rates for May. This made more sense as we're going back in December and won't have to buy tickets for that trip and there will hopefully be AP discounts then as well.

The AP rate is something I used to look into a lot until MYW+Dining. Nowadays I think that you're able to add the dining oackage to the AP but I think it's something they just recently added. We did an AP rate at the Grand Californian about five years ago while visiting my in-laws in Temecula, Calif. I LOVE shopping around for the deals.
