Question about Disney Rewards points (dollars)

I am sure that this has been asked on these boards before but, i was wondering where I can use my Disney Rewards at DTD? I know that not all establishments there are "Disney" but i have heard that they will take them anyway? I have also heard that some won't? :shrug: Specifically, has anyone used them at Raglan Road and/or Ghiardelli?

According to Chase you can use your points at the World of Disney. I'm unsure about the places you stated but I'm sure somebody on this board will know.

The mystery deepens! I have now called Disney, Raglan Road and Ghiardelli directly and no one can give me an answer!? :brick:Very strange. Hasn't anyone used Disney Rewards at Downtown Disney (besides at World of Disney)?

I found that while some of the shops at DTD are not familiar with the Rewards cards they are accepted. I asked if I could use it at Basin and the clerk wasn't sure. So she tried it and it worked. It works like a pre-loaded debit card in a way, so most places that accept cards and are not cash-only, you should, be able to use it.

The only places you may encounter problems are non-Disney operated shops like the Virgin Megastore. It may work there, but I'd say the chances aren't as good as other places. Hope that made sense!

I'm pretty sure that Raglan Road does, because the accept Disney Dining Plan as we ate there this past December using that, so if they accept the Dining Plan I'm sure they will accept the reward $'s too.

The difference is the card is through Chase bank and not directly through Disney. I do think Raglan will accept it, since in theory it should work like a credit/debit/gift card.

If you have room charge on your key, then you can use that to pay for anything you want. Then simply pay the room charge with your reward points.

I've never had a location not take the rewards card, but haven't tried it everywhere. Many shops in DTD have taken it without issue.

I have used mine in almost every store in DTD, including Basin, World of Disney, Art of Disney, The Christmas Store....all of em! I've never had a problem there, but I have not tried restaurants with it.

I think your best bet is to call the Disney Visa line and talk to someone there. They should have a list of participating retailers for the rewards program.

If it is disney owned you are fine but most of the restraunts will NOT take it.

Interesting. We've tried at alot of the restruants to no avail. Maybe it's just the server or something.

We've used ours at most of the retail shops in DTD. The only restaurant we used them at was at the Poly. I would think you should be able to use them anywhere in DTD. Call Disney dining and ask. They are always very helpful with any type of question I have.

Yes, my thoughts exactly but when I called I was told to call the restaurant. When I called VISA, they told me to call Disney. Oh well, I'll just have to try and I'll report back! I have a feeling that Raglan road might take it but Ghiardelli will not.
