Queue wait time status watch for WWOHP

Hi everyone

Don't know if everyone up for this or interested but I would find it useful to see how the queue's start to settle around WWOHP; Especially ready for my trip in August!

For those of you that visit would you be able to log some wait times on this thread? Maybe something like 21JUN10 - approx 11am - FJ - 120 mins, DC - 60 mins, Olivanders 40 mins or far to crowded to enjoy.

Also some comment on the how crowds in the rest of IOA was on the day you visited.

Thanks,
Clayre

Well I hope this helps. Was there on Jun 19. The wait time to just into the Harry Potter area from the entrance to IOA was 2.5hrs. We arrived at the park by 8:50am. At 11:30 when we entered Hogsmead the FJ was 75min. Olivanders was 3hr wait. At 1:30pm FJ was 45min. That included the time the ride broke down 3 times. From the entrance to Hogwarts to actually getting on the ride was 10min. When we left at 2:30 Olivanders was still 2hrs. Hippogriff was 10min. DC was 15min. Leaving the area and walking to the front to leave the times board was showing all other attractions including the Universal park were 20min or less. This was definetly a lot better than on opening day. The stories I head from people that tried to go on opening day that were on line with me said, there was around 60,000 people and took 16hrs to just get into the HP area. The lines extended to the Hard Rock as well as to the parking lot walkways.

Que is a Spanish word I thought?

Anyway. I'm hoping things clear out by the time we go in Sept. Kids should be back in school and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I heard something about a 16 hr wait?! I can drive to Orlando from my home in Illinois in less than 16 hours....

The 16-hr wait was exaggerated. It included arriving at the park at midnight the night before Potter opened. Don't believe everything you read... including this?

This 16hrs was mentioned by the media, but I know first hand of someone that was there on opening day. Arrived there at 8:00 and entered the HP area at 3:30. Ride the FJ at 6:30. So believe that if you like.

The media reported 8 to 10 hour wait times to get into the land, not 16... I did not come across one report stating that... Someone here has been exaggerating the wait times...

Lines have gone down, still long waits for FJ, Olivanders, DC, but none to get into the land.

I fully expect the wait times to get into the land to continue to dwindle.... As for the wait times for the ride and Olivanders, I expect these to continue to range to 2-4 hours... The ride since it is one heck of an ride, and the store because it was constructed too small... I just hope, come November, the wait times are even less...

What's the deal with Olivander's? I mean I heard it was a store, and they do some show where the "wand chooses it's owner" or whatever. But is it REALLY that cool? And if it is, how much does THAT cost if chocolate frogs are $10? And how long does it take if there are longer waits than the FJ ride?

Olivanders is more like a show than a store, You enter with a group between 5 and like 20, one guest is "found" to be getting his/her first wand. They do 2 tries before the wand is found, each act changes each show. That person can then take the wand that chose him/her into the owl post and purchase it if they choose.

Wands are running near $30 but that price is still in flux...
