On February 2, Punxsutawney Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's - in front of thousands of followers from all over the world - to predict the weather for the rest of winter.

According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

I wish we had a guy like this to predict the hurricane season.

Yes! Woodstock Willie did not see his shadow, thus winter is officially over here in Chicagoland. Woodstock Willie has been prognosticating every year since his grandfather starred in Groundhog Day (which, in addition to having been filmed a couple miles from my house, is the Greatest Movie Ever).
