PTR: First time... please be gentle?

Well Hi There!

Feel a bit out of sorts doing this, but I enjoy reading everyone else's so much that it seemed like the right thing to do. So here goes.... (jitters)

We're a family of thre.... errr... four now! Traveling from the Magic Mitten to the Magic Kingdom as often as time and money will allow. As a family of three, this will be our 5th trip to The World. Last trip was in Feb to DisneyLand that doesn't "count" in the WDW tally... Love them both (but don't get me started on the Disneyland Hotel). We'll be "Home" March 4th - 10th. Just in time for the flower and garden fest! Our first trip as FOUR!

First there's me! First trip was in '74 and I plan on being buried there eventually.

Here's the most Wonderful Wife in the World (sorry ladies, she has the documentation to prove it) and DS1 (DS in my posts refers to Designated Son... He'd shiver if I called him Dear) on the Monorail at DLR. They never take serious pictures.

And finally DS2.. otherwise known as "The Rookie". He shares the un-serious gene with my wife.

Can't wait to showoff and show around DS2.... 8.5 months is the perfect age to get the bug started! We bought in to DVC a few years ago with the plan that the boys will have a place to take their kids\spouses\friends in the future.
This is only our second time staying at our home resort of Kidani Village, but we love it!

Also, the first time we're doing ADR's. We usually have breakfast and lunch in the room and eat where ever for dinner. Wife picked 'em... but I'm happy as long as I eat well. And I usually do!

Sunday - Sanaa (our favorite)
Monday - The Wave
Tuesday - Shutters
Wednesday - Turf Club (great prime rib)
Thursday - Garden Grill
Friday - Les Chef's

Feel free to comment! Wife has to check menus carefully to find things she can eat (hypoglycemic \ sugar free \ no processed flour). I'm sure we'll also speak to some chefs as suggested here.

That's about it. Any suggestions? First time with an infant as DS1 first visited when he was 4. Plan on hitting Blizzard Beach for the first time also. Concerns?

Sounds like you got everything all planned out! Never been over to the AKL but we're hoping to eat at Sanaa in the spring! :) I hear that resort is beautiful!!

Sounds wonderful! We are going in November with our 5-month-old. We were those people who always said we would wait to take her until she is old enough to understand and enjoy it...but we can't wait to go again, and can't bear the thought of being away from her for a few days. Not yet, anyway...she's too wittle :) So we will be the much-maligned people with the stroller--which means we will always have the right-of-way when plowing through the crowds :)
I hope to post a report soon after. I will definitely include any helpful suggestions for doing Disney with an infant.

Thank you Vtlsgns2,

While we're imagined pros at hitting the resort I'm a bit apprehensive taking the Rookie as we don't want to become one of the dreaded "stoller coasters"!
And advice is appreciated!

Also, Thank you derelicte19!

AKL is unique for sure. Very quiet and very relaxed. As far as Sanaa goes, while not having eaten everywhere on property, it's by far my favorite place.

We fly on Delta... Gotta love those frequent flier miles! The three of us (pre-Rookie) flew to LAX (DLR) roundtrip for $15. Only way we could get out there!

Must be nice! We're going Southwest when we go... not enough points for any free miles yet, but we're slowly working on it. Thinking the BF needs to get his own rewards card so we can get more. :lookaroun

Change of plans...

Moved arrival date back one day but get to stay a day longer!

Had to switch resorts as we couldn't get the extra Sunday at Kidani Village.
Now we're staying at Saratoga Springs instead (One more day for only 10 more points). We have stayed there once before and really liked it!

The folks that helped us with this late change were wonderful! DVC staff really made the switch easy!

Cute kids! Can't wait to read the TR - I've always wanted to try Sanaa but the fam isn't exactly adventurous with the food choices.

Just shifted the Sanaa reservation since it would have been on our original first night. I can't rave enough about the place... And you don't have to be that adventurous to really enjoy it!
