PS made by Concierge

We are staying at the Polynesian in May. About a couple of weeks ago, we received a pamphlet from the resort, I think from the concierge.

It has a section for priority seating, which I assume means the concierge will make them for us.

I guess that's my question, does the concierge make my PS for me? If so, do they have a better shot at getting Cindy's for breakfast?

Thanks.

I don't know about Cindy's Breakfast but the PS the concierge made for us were the best tables we ever had at WDW. Our form came with a ph# and a fax #. Call them, they will be happy to help.

We've used concierge the last few times at our stays at AKL. They scheduled just about everything for us, and got us into a few things I couldn't get into like Princess Storybook Breakfast.

They are very good at what they do, but they are only human, and even Cindy's could trip them up. I'd get them to schedule and call yourself too. That way you'll have two chances durning those, what 2 min, of calling time to get a PS. :animwink:

Good luck!

Related Questions:

1. Are PS's made by a concierge restricted to the same "time window" as making a normal PS. In other words, can a concierge make a PS further ahead then the standard 90 days out? If I'm booked to stay Concierge in December can I call them now and ask them to make PS's (such as CRT) for me?

2. Is a PS made by the concierge of "higher" status then a normal PS? I've read posts that suggest that a PS made by a concierge tends to have less of a wait upon arrival and tends to get the better seats/tables.

I'm on the verge of booking a trip for later this year and I'm considering "going concierge". Besides the food and lounge I'm trying to see if a concierge can get me this hard to get PS's.

I don't think so. I belive they are on the same PS time window as any regular guest calling in.

Again, I belive, from my experiance with them, that they are pretty much the same as if we would had made the call. But you have to remember that this is their job, and they usally do it very well.

They sometimes have more direct numbers to call, so they could be able to "get in" faster than we could.

If you are really worried about a specific PS, then go ahead and tell them, but call yourself too. If you both get it booked, you could always call back and cancel one of the PS's.

I booked a few of the PS myself for that exact reason. I wanted a very specific seat for Circue de Soiley, so I booked them, then called the concierge and gave them the PS number for their records. You should always give them the info if you book it.

They will track all you reservations and build you a nice itiniary when you arrive.

Have fun!

Well, there is never a guarantee, but last year I was able to get reservations for Cindy's Royal Table for breakfast through our concerge that I'd not been able to get myself through calling several times.

True, it could have a last minute cancellation that I might have been able to luck into myself, but I'll never know. All I know is I didn't have breakfast PS's in the Castle until I turned it over to the Concerge.

In fact, they even had the table decorated for us when we got there (it was my honeymoon) and held the table a few extra minutes 'cause we were running late because of the crowded monorail.

I think most of the resturants go out of their way to accomodate deluxe resort guests, especially those in concerge. If there aren't some tangible perks (besides the lounges) to those guests they will be less inclined to pay $500+ for the room next time.

Yep, that's true. Most of the finer places we ate at (Fylying Fish, Coral Reef, Yahatsman) all knew details about our trip that could have only come from concierge. The knew about special events for both us and friends eating with us. And I know the only people at Disney that knew were concierge.

You are exactly right, those are some of the tangible perks that make us keep coming back to concierge on every stay. That pampered feeling while at WDW is much better that any stay without concierge.

I've always felt "in a rush" on all other visits, but the last two years that we've used concierge has been so laid back and calming. I couldn't care less making it to all the rides or shows anymore. Now it's about just enjoying the moment. And while it not 100% the reason why I feel this way, concierge has made a big impact on the way we enjoy our vacations now.

And with discount codes, it really isn't costing me any more than what I was paying before I found out about discount codes. So it's not costing me anything I wasn't prepaired to pay anyways.

Have fun!

Follow up:

1. For PS/reservations that require a deposit (such as CRT) will the concierge just have the credit card I used to make my hotel reservation charged automaticaly for the deposit?

2. For Cirque tickets, I beleive you can get them 6 months in advance. Do you acutally buy them at that time or are you just reserving them to be picked up and paid for at the box office the night of the show? The reason I ask is that I want the best seats possible (thus necessating me getting them 6 months out) but what happens if some in my party decide not to go after i've "bought" them? Am I out of luck or can I "cancel" some or all of the tickets?

We also always stay at the Concierge level (usually Yacht Club, but have also stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge concierge) and find the service from the staff to pay for itself.

Having them make all the PS ahead of time, handle the inevitable changes which result (both ahead of time and once we get there) and also be available to make other special arrangements has been wonderful. They have also definitely been able to squeeze us into things that would have been more difficult on our own.

Now, just 15 more days until our next trip, which will once again be to the Yacht Club concierge level!

1. Yes, they will use the CC you have attached to your room reservation unless you tell them to use something else.

2. Either way. You can have the tickets send to you in the mail, or picked up at the box office. There is a cancel time limit, but I don't remember what that is. But I think if you get the ticket in the mail, you can't cancel them at all (non-refundable). I'd just call the box office and ask.

We even used our Silver Plan wishes for the Cirque tickets and I called the box office. No problems, and we picked up the tickets at the box-office the night before our show date. At that time they charged us against the wishes.

Have fun!

Yep, they are real good at fixing things last min. We had an issue on the day of our check-in couse we found out that the Wishes fireworks were only being shown on that day, Monday, and the following Saturday. We had tickets for Cirque on Saturday so that was out.

We already had a 6:30pm PS at Corel Reef, so they moved it back so we could make it over to MK from Epcot after dinner in time to see the show. It took a whole 2 min for them to help us including me explaining this to them. Would have been a pain if I had to do it myself. Plus this was all done within 10 min of arriving at the AKL that day.

Love those guys!

When you get to the resturant, and they pull your PS, it is noted to be booked by Concierge. I have walked in 20 minutes past a Conc. Booked PS and have gotten a table immediately, even when there were a few people waiting.

I think they treat a Concierge booked PS, more like a reseveration in where you are guarenteed a seat.

With grand gatherings (magical gatherings of 8 or more) you get your own travel planner to help with priority seatings. I wonder if they are similar to a concierge in helping with hard to get seatings?
