Hi all,

I wanted to start this early to let everyone in on a secret. My girlfriend and I will be going down for our first real vacation together. We will be driving down from New Hampdhire and leaving on 11/28.

So first let me start with a little background. The cast of characters:

Me (Joe): 42 divorced with a daughter that just turned 22
Girlfriend (Janice): 32 never married, no kids

Part 2

We will celebrate two years together at the begining of November. We now live together and have been talking about getting married. Recently we went down and looked at rings, she picked out a stone and we had a custom setting made for it.

We have been going through some finacial trouble (left over from my divorce) and she thinks the the ring is still on layaway at the jeweler. I have already paid for it and have it in my possession (She has no idea).

Her dad was going in for surgery this weekend so last week I talked with him and got his permission. I also asked my daughter for her blessing. <Side note> her dad came through the surgery fine.

So now the plan. I have decided on the CRT Engagement package as she loves the Disney princesses. I also have a habit of calling her my princess.

I will post more updates soon.... trying to get a picture of the ring on here as well.

I was having a hard time getting a good picture of the ring. I just got the insurance appraisal back and they took a few pictures so I thought I'd post them.

Good luck with everything - It will be a great supprise for her.

One small thing though - I think they stopped offering the CRT proposal package. I could be wrong though but it might be a good idea to call and confirm before going too far with your plans.

Thanks, not sure where you got your info about CRT. I have been in touch with them as recent as 10/20 to update a few items I wanted.

So we leave in 4 days.

As far as I know, she still has no clue what will happen on the trip.

I did have the special Disney shirts made up with our names and the date of the engagement. Of course the picture is the same as my avatar.

I asked the people at CRT about "Just Engaged" buttons but it doesn't seem like they will have them. Anyone know how I might be able to get them?

Good luck - and keep us posted!!! Sorry I can't help on the buttons - I've never seen any like that, to tell you the truth. Can you have them made at home before you leave?

good luck. one bit of advise so she doesn't suspect nything, don't be all nervous, jumpy and just not yourself in the days to come until you ask her cus she'll wonder whats up, that's wat i think, tho, i haven't been proposed to yet lol

but enjoy it, and good luck and awwww! yay! i'm going to disneyland paris on the same dates as you are, hoping i get proposed to lol it's been a year lol

we just past 2 years last week. I am nervouse all the time LOL. I have one of those jobs and so excited about getting away, I am not sure she would notice anyways.

When we were there a few weeks ago, we saw a couple with a Just Married button on and they had crossed out Married and changed it to Engaged. So I'm thinking there isn't a Just Engaged button based on that.

That's right. You can get the just married buttons by slipping to guest relations or maybe the front desk at your hotel would be easier. Then just borrow a sharpie from them.

They do sell (at least when I worked there) a pin of mickey and minnie sitting in the bank of an engagement ring.
