The trailer merch is discounted 75% but ONLY CM are allowed to shop in there. IF no one is checking ID at the gate, you COULD accompany your friend in there, but you cannot purchase anything without cast ID.
As far as I know, that's changed. I went there on Wednesday as a guest, and all we needed was for my CM to pull out their ID. And that's how it's been every time I've been there.

I never seem to notice any clearance items at any Disney shop.Do they pull any items before it goes clearance to sell at outlet stores to keep up with "good show" since clearance racks always look tacky in a store?
That sounds about right. I've seen them do sales in guest shops, but never any clearance.

July liquidation sale?!? This sounds very intriguing...I understand the concept, but more details would be appreciated!

Hmmm, perhaps the one at Disney University? All the others that I know of are past security checkpoints. I never did find out whether DU was a restricted backstage area or not (I assumed Cast and pre-CM's taking Traditions were only allowed in DU). Come to think of it, I've never been to the Maingate one either, so I'm not sure about their security policy. Sorry! You do have to present a Cast ID to purchase anything, though.
Without a cast ID, you can go to the ones at DU, Maingate, and if you're good, also team Disney.

I seldom do those sales, but when I do, the prices are amazing. I remember buying Star Tours action figures for 25 cents each :D

I'm beginning to think eBay sellers such as "Your WDW Store" are getting some of their stock from Property Control and satellites.

Yup... some of this is authorized by the mouse though :lookaroun

There are other rackets out there that are run by CM's with B discounts out there... those are not authorized, but Disney hasn't caught a lot of them yet.

Now for the West Coast equivalents :D

In California they're called Team Centers :) The most famous Team Center is Mickey's of Glendale at WDI ;) The Team Center at the Studio Lot also has a sister store which is operated by WDW Merchandise  If you need LE stuff, the Team Center at the Disney Channel building (skyscraper) is the least visited one, so you can usually find things there weeks after they've sold out in other locations.

Company D in California refers to a Team Center located in Anaheim, which is their version of Cast Connection. They have a small corner office that also sells West Coast versions of our Company D stuff.

I agree that checking id's is hit or miss. Guests are allowed in the discount trailer as well as Cast Connection. I've seen kids in there as well. The other day when I went, there was a person on modified/light duty checking Id's before you got to the 2 buildings. However, when I went to pay for some stuff at Cast Connection, the cashier told me that there was no discount on the stuff I was buying beyond the price and she didn't need my ID. I told her that I thought I needed it to pay with to show I was a CM. So she wasn't checking ID's to see if you were a cast member.

Ok, I have read through this entire thread and no one has let us know what "Property Control" is. What is it relative to Cast Connection?

Cast Conection and the Trailer are located in Property Control. Property Control is several things to Disney, the most popular thing being a CM only discount shopping area. The other functions it serves is as a storage area for material reissue within the WDW Co, another function it serves is as an auction yard for surplus Disney materials. Finally, it serves as a pickup area for prearranged surplus and bulk sales.

In the left 1/3 of the Cast Connection building there is an area called Property Control. The items change often, but at any given time you could purchase beds, video game machines (arcade style), office furniture, Happiest Celebration on Earth signs that went on lamp posts, plates, glasses, wine buckets, and other things.

If you are wondering what happens to lost and found items, they go to the discount trailer next to Cast Connection. You can purchase strollers, sun glasses, cameras, jewlery, in addition to slightly damaged merchandise that was meant to be sold but is not in good condition.

Not all lost & found items are there ;)

Cellphones and Pagers haven't been sold there for over 5 years. The story I was told is that a CM had the cellphone reactivated, then called the owner (whose home phone was still stored) and told them how they got their phone.

They weren't pleased.
