Proof of Time questions

I am completely freaking out right now about getting my confirmation that they received my new emailed Proof of Time. I emailed Monday afternoon, and it is now Friday and I've heard nothing. Should I send it again? I understand they are getting ready for Tower of Terror, but then they will get a billion Proof of Time emails afterwards to deal with and then go into preparing for Wine and Dine. I have to have this submitted and approved by Nov 1. I am running the WDW full marathon in January. It is my first and possibly only full, so it is really important to me.

I finally got the email confirmation that my Proof of Time was received and will reflect my corral position at the race. I hope everyone else gets theirs too! It took a full week to get confirmation back!
Now I just hope there are not other people with my name signed up and they put my time toward someone else with my name! I worry about everything, but I've done what I can do now. Just hope that everything falls into place for my first and only marathon!!!!
Good luck to everyone!

Now me AND my sister have proof of time issues! She ran her first 10K over the weekend..the Wild Shrimp Shuffle in Titusville as part of the Titusville and Space Coast racing series. She told me after the race that there were some issues with the markings on the course. Some people ran less than 10K and some ran more. Her GPS said 6.75 miles (10.9K) in 72 minutes. She wasn't concerned about the extra distance....she was just happy to have a time to submit to keep us out of the last corral and that is about what my time will be for a true 10K if Disney accepts mine a day late. Anyway...she has been waiting for them to post the results online before she sends in her email to TrackShack, but today they put an announcement up on the race page saying they are not going to post the results online because it's not fair!! So she's not sure what to do now. I guess she will just send it in and see what happens. There is another 10K she might could do on Oct. 26 at Celebration, but she really doesn't want to do another one right now.

The most bizarre statement in the announcement: "For those runners who think they earned an award, just contact me and we will get you the award. " I think I won an award. I've always wanted one.

Here's the link to the race page with the announcement http://www.spacecoastrunners.org/trs.htm

@Kristia has already answered that the half will be sufficient. Any race that is a 10 miler or above can be used for proof of time for the Full, Goofy or Dopey
I was going to run a local half marathon this fall to submit a proof of time for the 2015 Mickey Marathon. But there is a local 10 miler that's more convenient. Does anyone know if a 10 miler carries the same weight for proof of time as a half marathon? I know it should (since the registration rules don't say otherwise) but don't want to harm my chances for a good corral placement.

Not sure what you mean? You just need to send in a race that is at least 10 miles for the marathon/Goofy/Dopey. I'm not sure that the distance matters beyond that. They take whatever you send them.

For every longer Disney race I've done (2 half marathons, 1 marathon, 1 Goofy and Dopey in 2015) I've sent in a 10-miler time and it's been fine. :)

Disney recently began using the McMillan calculator to determine what your anticipated pace should be, based on the submitted one. It basically weighs your pace based on race distance (since you can run a 5K faster than a marathon) and tells you what you could run the marathon in
http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/

If you can run the 10 miler and the half marathon at the same pace, the half marathon will give you an ever-so-slight advantage. Unless you happen to be right on the cut-off line for one of the corrals, there's no realistic advantage to using one over the other

Mcmillan is a GREAT predictor! I ran a 10 miler last October before Wine & Dine. It was pretty darn close to predicting my W&D finish.

I'm not sure how Track Shack (runDisney race organizers) verifies/determines the finish times based on what is given. I'd recommend checking Mcmillan with the various race times you could use for submission then submit improved times all the way up to the cutoff date. I also recommend emailing them proof of times, even if you entered it at registration. The main reason here is due to possible glitches in systems. Better to be safe than sorry

Many thanks for the responses. Very useful and exactly the info I was looking for. I've used the McMillan calculator before but didn't know Disney used it to for race placements. I'm going to run the 10 Miler and use that as my proof of time for the Mickey marathon.
