Greetings to all!!

I just accepted the Wedding Coordinator Professional Internship for fall 2007. I’m so excited and can’t wait to start! I wanted to start a forum for the fall 2007 PI. I was hoping that anyone who received a PI or was in the process of applying for one could meet with others and discuss any questions or concerns about the program and find out where everyone was living and what they were doing in their roles.

Also if there are any past PI, could u possibly give any advice such as how to make the most of the internship and what you did after your program(did u get a job with Disney or how did the PI help you gain other jobs after Disney or graduation).
<O:p
The questions that I have are what are the apartments like at Northbridge and how hard or easy is it to get a full time role with Disney after the PI. I’m graduating this May so I’m hoping to get a full time role after my internship.
<O:p
I look forward to reading what roles people accepted and what others did after their internship!!

I just applied on the deadline day as was having a hard time narrowing it down to just 3 . I applied for Labor Operation Technology , MK Scheduling specialist, and Information Managment in AK. I have only gotten the prescreening interview which as every one say is to get an idea of who you are and disney material but im still hired by them so i dont see my disneyness changing. Im hoping for that second interview or im gonna have to do a second CP. Is it about a month to wait if your going to get a second interview i was told. I too want a job after as i graduate in may but im hoping for the second interview. Small steps. Any tips for interviewing will be appreciated.

I have my interview today at 3:30 for Training and Development. I'm so excited and extremely nervous at the same time. This isn't my top choice of PIs that I applied to, but I'm still excited!

Hi!

I just accepted my PI in Communication Planning (Resorts) yesterday!! I'm real excited.

My start date is June 22. Does anyone else have the same start date? I assume that this is the day that we begin Traditions, is that right?

Anyway, congrats to all of you who have gotten an offer so far. For those of you who haven't heard yet, good luck(!) -- just be expecting a random phone call one day with someone offering you a job!

Hey there! I was just accepted last week for the College and International Program Operations and Events Internship. I'm so excited! Is there anyone planning on living at Northbridge if they are offered a spot? I figure I would be able to save more money living at Northbridge rather than by myself. Also, on the June 22nd arrival date, does anyone know if that will be the same deal as the college program where we check-in and then start over with Traditions? Hope to talk to you all soon!

Thanks! The best place for info is the PI website: http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/internships/home.html. From there, you can search for openings. As I understand it, all are paid positions.

I will be living with some friends in the Orlando area, so I won't be staying at Northbridge.

As far as the 22 goes, I have the same question. My boss at WDW called me yesterday to introduce herself and answer any questions I have, but she did not know the specifics about when I would be going through Traditions. I assume that they'll be sending us all through at the same time--that seems to make the most sense. I guess we'll be getting an email or letter in the regular mail that gives more details. Let me know if you find something out!

I just got my "official" acceptance letter in the mail! It basically mirrors the email that I got last week, but gives a little more information about the arrival date.

It says that the arrival time is between 9am and 12pm on June 22. Also, there will be an email sent out later on that tells where to go.

Hooray!!
:D

By the way, does anyone know what the merch discount policy and comp ticket policy is for PI people? Is it the same as regular CMs?
Also, on another note, is there a gym on property (not the dorms) for CM use?

Discount and admission policy for Professional Interns is the same as the policy for seasonal and college program cast members. If I remember correctly, there is a rather nice exercise facility inside Team Disney, and is open to all cast members (for a small fee, I believe, though it might be complimentary). I recall my roommate saying that he'd worked out there.

OK, so sorry to keep asking so many questions!! But I have one more...

Is is possible to cross-train and pick up extra hours as an intern? Since my letter says I am only guaranteed 30 hours per week, I would like to spend some of my extra time working in either operations, guest relations, or maybe on the monorail. If that's possible, then how hard is it to actually get those extra hours? Do you get your same payrate or does it change based on the position?

Wow, still so many questions! Please forgive me, I guess I am a little over-excited about moving to sunny Orlando!!

I got my offer call today for the position of Marine Mammal Intern at Epcot's Living Seas. I'm so excited!! The only thing I'm sad about is leaving my dog behind for 6 months. :( I think I'm opting for Northbridge apartments since it's really convenient and will probably save me money in the long term. And the gym looks nice!

Anybody else doing a roadtrip to Florida? I'm driving from California!!
