Pre-Trip ProcrastiNations: Deflections of Work

Hello and welcome to another Bee PTR! If you don't know me, I am your friendly neighborhood lesbian opera singer/ex-Floridian Disney addict lover! I have been traveling to WDW somewhat regularly since the late 90s, and for the last nearly eleven years I've been going with my wonderful wife M.

One of the best parts about having family in Florida is that we always have an excuse to visit the Mouse around holidays. As has become our annual tradition, we are going back for Thanksgiving!

Why the title? As usual, I am using the forums to procrastinate. I have approximately 71 million things to do in the next few weeks, including MOVE (more on that later). I'm also preparing for two major national vocal competitions, and learning one of my dream roles for an upcoming opera gig in January. I ALSO teach 20+ voice and piano students and several of them are 8th graders auditioning for performing arts high schools soon so we are preparing their audition material. In short, life is crazy, and that calls for a PTR!

I'll leave you with that, and post details in the next few posts!

We did the Mears shuttle to the Swolphin the last time we were there. Probably a little cheaper than Lyft/Uber, but it is a shared ride which isn't too bad most of the time. Good luck with your move and everything else that you have going on. I would be procrastinating too if I were in your shoes! :p

Mears runs a shuttle to Swan which may be cheaper than Uber/Lyft.

Although I haven't take a Mears shuttle bus to the Swan, I have used them twice in the past (for other hotels near Disney) and the service was awful Each time, I waited an hour at the airport, and then, of course, they hit about 3 other hotels before they get to yours. Lesson learned. Spend a bit more and get a taxi, and depart right away from the airport--express to whatever hotel you want! :)

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Yes, time and convenience will definitely be a factor in this decision.

Yay!!!! Another Bee Trip Report. You must report back on new drinks for me to try when I go in December.
You KNOW there will be drinks! :p

LOVE the title!! LOL
Thank you!

This title is so great!... especially since I'm reading it while procrastinating at work. Loved the photos from your last trip - looking forward to this!!
Thank you!

Another trip = fantastic! :)
We're getting so excited!

I am happy to see another trip report in the making!
Welcome!

Thanksgiving lunch with family

Friday, 11/24
Family time. NO Black Friday plans for us!

Saturday, 11/25
Drive back to WDW!
Check in ???*
Epcot! FP for Frozen for me, M, MIL,and FIL (hoping BIL will decide soon if he's joining us or not and if so buy a ticket so we can attempt to get some FPs with him)
Hoping to enjoy some booths at the Epcot Food and Christmas Festival (or whatever they're calling it!)
Overnight ???*

Sunday, 11/26
A family meal somewhere! It is our tradition to treat the family to a nice meal at either a park or resort. Since we have 2-3 picky eaters and 2 vegetarians it's usually easiest to do a buffet or similar. We currently have reservations for Boma (breakfast), Biergarten (late lunch), and Via Napoli (dinner). We will let the family decide and cancel the other two.
AK at some point! FPs: FoP and Safari
Overnight ???*

Monday,11/27
Epcot morning, maybe breakfast in France
3:40pm flight to EWR

*We're not sure where we'll be staying. M and I have a reservation at Pop and a reservation back at the Swan. MIL and FIL know they want to join us for the trip but they don't know where they want to stay. So we're not sure if they will try to get a room at either Pop or the Swan (and we'd cancel whichever they don't pick), or if they will want to stay somewhere else and we just meet in the parks, OR if we will all share a suite or villa offsite somewhere.

As you can see there is a lot of flexibility in our plans and we are leaving plenty of things to be decided the day of.

Now about this upcoming move!

As you may know from previous TRs, our building was sold over the summer and the new landlord wants everyone out. We found a beautiful apartment in a brand-new building in an amazing location for a fair price (actually negotiated about 7.7% off the original listing price!).

We were hoping to have moved in by now, but we are still waiting on a date as inspections are finished and things are finalized with the new building. I can only hope we have an answer soon! Our lease begins November 1 so if nothing else we'll show up then with our U-Haul full of stuff (but it would be nice to get in this weekend perhaps!).

For now our life is: pack, clean, sort, recycle, donate, discard, lather, rinse, repeat!

At least we have the trip to look forward to in the midst of CHAOS!

Once I again I can live another Disney trip through you. We typically go to WDW every other Thanksgiving, but we went to Disneyland this summer instead. At least your TR will make me feel like I am there a little bit. Of course, once I talk to my mother, she will be sure to remind me that I am not there celebrating Thanksgiving with them!
