Sometimes I'll take a 70-200 f2.8 lens with either a Nikon D300 or a D700, but usually opt for a smaller lens. I have 2 monopoles rigged on my ECV to carry the weight.How much fun could it be to lug that around?

After rereading the policy they don't say they won't allow professional equipment just that you have to go through media relations to use it in a professional manor. You could be a rich hobbyist and not be considered a professional.
