Princess Fairytale Hall - when is it supposed to open?

Heard today that it is supposed to open on the 18th. Haven't anything about previews before that yet. As always things are subject to change.

Thanks, again!

Just for the heck of it, I looked at the daily calendar for the MK on the WDW website, and it does show up as open starting then. Took me a while to find it (the usability of the website is for another thread, thought).

Really do appreciate you checking back in :)

Disney Parks Blog posted a video tour - Confirmed to open Sept 18.

Princess Fairytale Hall will offer two separate character greeting experiences, which means there are two queues to choose from. You can choose to meet either Cinderella or Rapunzel, each of whom will be joined by one fellow Disney princess.

Princess Fairytale Hall will offer both traditional Disney FASTPASS and the new Disney FastPass+ options.

Two weekends from now should be very interesting. It will be the first time since SWSA closed that there will be no construction walls around the site, and I am curious how my son will react. We were there a couple weeks ago when the new signage became visible over the construction walls, and Ben stopped dead in his tracks to stare at it. He even took a few pictures. I honestly don't know if it will be better or worse for him once this opens. I think perhaps he has been harboring a hope this whole time that his ride would come back once the walls went away...

So if the picture on the walls are to be correct than Mulan finally makes her return to MK as one of their friends. It makes sense to try and have all the princesses in the MK since there a lot of people that just go to MK and maybe one other park. This last trip a few weeks ago I lost count how many adults and kids were asking where to find Mulan and Pocahontas while standing in other princesses lines so they could get all the princesses. Hopefully Pocahontas is added to this line up as her AK line is always closed before she even comes out.

I am really not a big fan of picking two different lines depending on which princess you want to meet. I hate that they did this in FLE in the big top tent. while there may be a few kids who would only want to meet one or the other, i think most would want to meet all and would much rather wait in one line and go from princess to princess to princess. sure the line may be longer, but it would only be one line, like it is today in town square.

Two separate lines just adds more FastPass+ options to choose from. So if your children want to meat both Repunzel and Cinderella, you'll have to use 2 of your reservations of the 3 (or 4) you get for the day. Yeah standing in line!

The video says 6 princess portraits are in the Hall. So will those be the 6 we can possibly meet or did they randomly pick princesses. I saw portraits of Mulan, Jasmine, Tiana, Snow White and we know Rapunzel and Cinderella will be there all the time.

I'm guessing no, because Aurora will one of the ones in the normal mix. I would image that more often then not the two other princess will be Aurora and Snow White. They are the ones currently featured in the MK. Tiana is going to remain in Liberty Square and Jasmine will remain in Adventureland. Hopefully they will sprinkle in Mulan and Pocahontas as they are the only two not currently ever seen in the MK.

I believe I remember reading something about a book you were writing awhile back? Was just wondering if that happened or is still planned to? Would love to read it.... It is going to be odd/sad to see the walls come down and no longer see a ride moving through there.

Has Disney considered letting Ben be the first one to ride 7DMTC?

The idea that the Princess with each Repunzel or Cinderella will be rotated randomly is a big fail too IMO. If there's anything that should be a definite, it's which Princess a child gets to meet.

If they want to split it into two lines then that's bad enough, but you should be able to know which Princesses you're going to see (even if it's via FastPass+ two months in advance).

From experience with the rotating Clone Wars characters at SWW, there's nothing worse than waiting in a long line for a character your kid is dying to see, only to have them rotate out right before you get to the front of the line.

I see this as nothing but a huge disappointment for many, many little girls.

The one line approach works much better.

In Disneyland they have signs that tell you which princess they have inside, I'm guessing they'll have the same kind of thing in WDW, and with all the on-line "magic" they'll have soon they should be able to post the schedule in advance

IIRC, they post who is meeting at the entrance of the current princess M&G in Town Square in MK as well. I think you'll know who you are going to meet before you get in line.

I absolutely agree with that. I understand why they do it but there's been days I must have the worst timing.

I don't understand it myself. For the money they make on SWW (which I'm sure is obscene), they can easily afford to have two of each masked character so they can rotate.

There's really no excuse.
