Princess Castles

why do they name these castles after the princess...when most of the castles had to have names already. Plus most of the princesses never had a real job until they married into the royal family. In fact some of them weren't even human (Ariel im looking at you). I think it's disrespectful to men in general that these beautiful women get to have castle's named after them just for being hot and having evil people try to hold them down (happens on project runway every week). Here's to renaming all the castles after the men who slay dragons, the beast who take a knife to the kidneys, the guy who went around looking at nasty feet until he found the right one...here's to you at least getting a garage on one of those castles to do some manly work!

Fear not--we have at least been referring to the new castles as Prince Erik's Castle and Beast's Castle (whether or not that is Disney's intention, I don't know).

I agree on Cinderella Castle--that Castle has been owned by Charming's family for generations and it gets renamed because the cinder girl moves in? Does Cinderella pay the mortgage? I think not.

At least Charming's got his sports room. Big screen to watch the jousts on ESPN (European Prince Sports Network). It's in the tallest tower - you can tell because they strung the video cable from Tomorrowland (they nearest place with cable technology) up to it. Special instructions are to avoid it when shooting fireworks, so Tink follows it knowing her path is safe.

Last time I checked, they've been calling two brand new structures in Fantasyland, Prince Eric's Castle and Beast's Castle. :lookaroun

Beast's Castle, Prince Eric's Castle, Gaston's tavern.

And it's Cinderella's castle is just easier to remember than say Prince Charming's.

I'd guess that the princesses get top billing because they tend to be the more interesting characters. The men tend to be one-dimensional and boring. Even the Beast became bland when transformed to a human. And did Snow White's Prince even have a name?

Of course, Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle was named for a much more mundane reason (and started a tradition we love to hate): to promote the upcoming movie.

The Prince formally know as Prince.
