WHAT?!?!

That's it. I'm not going with you anymore. :p

Well, umm. I mean... umm ::cough:: if you don't have anyone to go with anymore - I mean, like... you know, if you're not busy or something. Maybe - ah shoot I'm not good at this. You know, maybe ummm.. I could go with you? If not, that's cool I - you know, I totally understand. You're probably like busy and have tons of friends or whatever. That's fine, no big deal. I just thought... you know... I just thought like - ah nevermind. Girls like you aren't interested in going to Disney World with guys like me.

I guess I don't see the controversy.

First, I haven't read anywhere but this thread that the park will be "divided in two". I assume the pirates and princesses will be dispersed a bit differently than that.

Second, who's to say that ONLY boys like Pirates and ONLY girls like Princesses anyway? Way to shove kids into a gender expectation box early.

Third, it's only going to be a few nights...plan around them if you don't like them. The parties are a blast for those who enjoy them, and it's completely your choice to attend or not. If you go to the MK every single night and it messes with you, then you are one of the .001% of people who do that, and I guess you'll just need to be more creative and find something else to do if you don't want to fork over the $.

I understand the expense can be a problem if you have a large family, but I wonder how many of those people pay $200+ a night just for a place to shower and sleep. Cut corners elsewhere if it means a lot to you.

That said, I think a more reasonable price for the parties (all of them) is $29-30, making them almost $40 with tax as they are now is more of a psychological barrier than anything else.

I would assume just like the Christmas and Halloween parties that the characters will have on costumes, like a pirate Mickey and what not. That's one of my favorite things about the special parties.

Disney got my $$$ (once again) for the party. Just got our tickets for the first party on 1/22/07. Sounds like the party will be geared for the younger set but then again, isn't that Disney's main draw. I always enjoy the special events with special fireworks and parades.

I think that its a clever idea but might alienate those people visiting WDW who aren't interested or don't have kids that will be ousted from the park early and leave a bad taste in their mouths.

Since kids are always up early in the morning, why not make the event at like 7 am before the parks open? :p

I think it's a great idea and due to the time of year it's held it really won't affect the park operating hours as much as everyone thinks it will.

Agreed... even if I do "lose" an hour or two at MK, I know they'll be making far more money than I could ever spend in that amount of time. And with my limited education in economics, I can derive this: the more they make from them, the more they have to spend on other things.

My father is that person that is so horrified by child leashes that he will start barking at the parents when he sees one. Very funny, but kind of horrifying, it still mortifies me even as an adult.
