Princess and Pirate Party questions

I am thinking about booking my next trip to Disney and I'm trying to decide to book it so we can attend the Princess and Pirate Party.

I have been to MNSSHP the past two years and have LOVED it.
How different is the P&P Party?
Is there a special parade?
What special characters are out(other than Jack Sparrow)?
Are there special shows?
There is really no info about the P&P Party on Disney's website.
Any info about the P&P party would be helpful. THANKS!

P&P is similar to MNSSHP. Only real difference is the theme of the parties. Both have special parades and fireworks and shows.

Yes, there is a P&P parade.

The special characters include John Smith, Camels from Aladdin, Sebastian and Flounder, Prince Ali (instead of Aladdin), and the VIPs are in special pirate/princess outfits (they are so cute!!).

There is 1 new show at P&P- the royal guard recruitment show (hosted by Prince Ali). It is really cute. The other shows are The Pirate Tutorial and Dream Along with Mickey.

Is this like the other hard ticket events where we can get in starting at 4:00 with our party ticket and not have to worry about a regular park ticket?

OMG! Magic, Music and Mayhem is by far the best I've ever seen. They even appear to blow up the castle! Perimeter fireworks done better than any and a really top-notch story-line. These fireworks alone are worth the price of admission!

M & M is amazing. We watched it from the docks at GF. It was a great view. Music was piped in so we heard it all, too. The view was so spectacular because we got to see it from every spot in the park, since it comes from many lands. Fireworks were everywhere.:)

I remember reading once that the best part of Magic, Music and Mayhem was that the castle actually becomes a character in the story rather than just changing colors and the usual. It's true! :sohappy:
But I do think the parade is a bit lame. :shrug:

If you answered YES to all the above, you have seen Magic, Music, & Mayhem. The best fireworks display at WDW. *Although, I think Wishes! is still a better "show" in terms of the timeless message it has and its ability to pull your heartstrings.

i didnt think there were going to be more pirate and princess partys.... they dismantled all of the sets and got rid of the costumes. im a cast member and from what i heard they are done with

There have been dates for 2009 released on AllEars. The WDW site is advertising P&PP although they haven't posted the dates yet.

Clearly CMs aren't always aware.

ha thats great. well i know that they are def. getting new sets for stuff bc i was there when they had guys come and tear down all the old stuff and get rid of it.

btw, I wasn't trying to pick on you, just saying the dates are out... CMs have provided some great info around here. [[[hugs]]]

Ive been waiting for the tickets to be released. I noticed today the dates that allears had listed on wdw calendar the park closing hours are chenged from closing at 7pm to 9pm and wiches & spectro magic are now scheduled for these nights. I'm afraid there will be no P&PP.:(

DH and I don't have kids, would it still be worth it for us to go (provided there is a party)? According to allears there would be one on arrival day, which would make for a really long day for us. We went to MNSSHP in October and had a blast, except for the rain.
